20.01.2022 If you squat, pull from the floor, work uni-laterally and press overhead you are probably getting all the midline work you need. I still see a place for extra midline accessory work with youth/development athletes. But in regards to a full athletic development picture, the fluffy "core" exercises we see on Instagram etc are exactly that, fluff. Ben www.sharperformance.com

12.01.2022 Strength coaches should be across all forms of exercise prescription, not just healthy elite athletes. The rehab process can be complex, adhearing to specific guidelines and tailoring exercise around your clients needs can be done. "Strength training is your rehab". Think about that

10.01.2022 Chris Beardsley has put together this fantastic reasource together relating to strength training and its transfer to sprinting performance. It is quite lengthy, but it provides a great framework for coaches who program for athletes. Strength can be general and applied in a broad context but it can also be specific. Have a read and let me know your thoughts. Ben www.sharperformance.com

06.01.2022 A nice way to kick off Tuesday morning. I have been lucky enough to be asked again to contribute to a feature article in Women`s Health and Fitness Magazine. This feature explores how you can appropriately and safely progress your training. In section #3 I discuss key concepts that need to be taken in to account when undertaking Aerobic based training ie. Running, Swimming, Riding. Feel free to send me any feedback or questions, alternatively you can also jump on my website ...www.sharperformance.com if you would like to find out more about the online services I offer. Have a great week, Ben https://drive.google.com/open

05.01.2022 Yes, mobility skills and drills are great and have notable benifits. But in my experience with a wide range of clients/ athletes, the best way to get better at any movement is to acutally DO IT. www.sharperformance.com Thanks to Barbell Rehab for another informed post. These guys post a ton of quality content.
