23.01.2022 The hardest message for me to try to write. Rather than ripping the bandaid off quickly, my fellow hairdressers are having it peeled off nice and slow. Our new conditions allow us to enjoy a maximum of 30 minutes with our clients so a quick haircut is perfect to fill that time slot. Beauty treatments are now unable to be conducted as beauty work is too high risk. Once a full lockdown is issued, our only way of communication will be via these posts. We will keep everyo...ne updated as to where we go from here. Sadly, Amanda and Kodee won’t be returning until such time as this is cleared but as the government hasn’t officially allowed hair salons to cease trading Keryn will be looking after anyone who has an appointment for a 30 minute haircut. If you are sick, been around anyone who is feeling unwell in any way, been in contact with people who have travelled overseas or even to the cities here in recent weeks please don’t try to squeeze in an appointment and risk infecting others. 17.01.2022 I guess you can take the girl out of the salon, but you can’t take the salon out of the girl!!!! Day 4.5 of being a hairstylist with no place to style and I had to get creative on my own hair. I am missing making a difference outside home. p.s love my new fringe and wispy sideburn!!

16.01.2022 Good morning to all our very special guests that we welcome into our salon past, present and future. Each day a new scenario is unfolding before our eyes. It is surreal and almost easy to forget that we are in a battle for our lives and the lives of all those we love. This is not something us girls at Shartan are taking lightly. From the first call out, we have tried to protect ourselves and those who visit with us to the best of our ability. At this stage, we are still ope...n to care for your needs. It is quite a nice feeling to be categorised as an essential service during this early stage. We style, cut, colour, we massage and sell shampoos and sprays. Did you know that every time you sit in the chair before us, you are getting our attention, our time which is more valuable than any dollar figure and our care. We ask at this time that you care about us equally. If you are experiencing a headache, a cold, a cough. If you have a runny nose, a raspy throat or a bit of a dizzy head, please don’t bring that into our workplace. What you can fight off with some Vick’s and Benadryl or a hot lemon and honey drink, I CANT. Not to mention this current virus. Upon arrival at Shartan Hair Studio you will be asked several questions and it is essential that you are open and honest with your answers. You will be offered strong hand sanitiser. If you are unwell,we will not be able to offer you your appointment at this time but can rebook at a later date. We have removed reading material from our benches but you are welcome to bring your own. Our beverages are still served in glass and ceramics which are thoroughly washed in soap and hot water before being treated with a sanisafe solution recommended by NSW health organisations. Most of our procedures are commonplace. We scrub, sanitise, sterilise. We wash our hands with soap and water between every client. We have new combs for every client. We replace our dropped combs with new ones and don’t hold our equipment in our teeth while our hands are full. Our aim has always been to protect you. Every item you touch is sanitised before and after your service, so you can be assured your risk within our studio is as low as we can make it. Keep yourselves and your family safe during this time. 14.01.2022 Morning everyone ! Just a quick update for you .We will continue with our current opening hours whilst complying with all relevant Covid19 protocols. 08.01.2022 To all our salon family, PLEASE be calm. Like most businesses we are taking every possible precaution to protect the health and safety of our staff and clients. We have a number of staff and clients who are immuno-compromised and they need us all to act responsibly. Things are changing on a daily basis. This situation is unique and will be monitored and adjusted accordingly.We cannot do our job remotely,our work requires us to touch and have a contact. We therefore ask pleas...e , if you are unwell have a cough or fever and sore throat, if you have been overseas or in contact with someone who has been travelling overseas recently or even just using our own cities public transport options, trains, planes etc,please call and reschedule your appointment. Everything possible is in place to keep everyone safe. You will be asked at the door If you or anyone you are in contact with,are unwell, you will be offered hand sanitiser, you will be asked questions regarding travel, we have and continue to clean all the door handles, benches , chairs and chair arms , sinks,eftpos machine, the till , crockery , glassware and front reception area to recommended health standards and beyond and we have removed all of our magazines at this stage. You are more than welcome to bring your own reading material until further notice or else we can just chat. Please understand we are doing as much as we can to protect all of you and protect all of us so that we are able to continue to look after you for as long as possible.Please stay safe, be careful of yourselves but more importantly be careful for those who can’t fight this if we catch it. It's just hair - I was your child's first haircut.... It's just hair - I was there for your first date. It's just hair - I was there for their funeral. It's just hair- I was there for your graduation. It's just hair- I was there when you didn't like the way you looked. It's just hair- when you got offered your dream job and nobody else knew but me and you! It's just hair- when you met the person of your dreams and they told you they loved you for the very first time! It's just hair- when all you wanted in the whole world is a hug from your hair stylist because you knew they'd give it to you with open arms! It's just hair- when you lost your job and didn't know what you were going to do. It's just hair- when you were getting a divorce and just needed to feel better about yourself. It's just hair- when you had a terrible day and looked forward to being able to vent without being judged. It's just hair- when you are about to go on vacation and can't wait to tell me all about it on your next visit. It's just hair - when you were expecting your first child. 02.01.2022 As most of our people would probably know by now, Keryn is still working in the salon until further decisions are made regarding salons and their operations. Amanda and Kodee are home for now. The salon hours of trading have changed and these depend on client need. Please feel free to check availabilities and operating hours. We are trying to work for the best for our clients, the best for our salon and the best for ourselves. We will not be beaten by Covid-19. We will be back xx
