20.01.2022 World's Greatest Shave Every single day, 47 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer. It can happen to anyone, of any age and at anytime. Joining the 20,000 people that shave their heads each year, our very own Jim Irvine, Nigel Veldhuis and Michael Beg are taking part to help conquer blood cancer. Sporting some spectacular hairstyles and beards, the self-proclaimed "The Blonde, The Red and The Ugly" will be braving the shave on the afternoon of Friday 11th December, liv...estreamed on our Facebook page. 18.01.2022 Shaw has continued its sponsorship of local events including the Carrick Park Pacing Club's three main race events. Our support of pony trots encourages the next generation of harness trainers and drivers in Tasmania. Head along to the three-race series on the 29th November, 27th December and 13th February.

18.01.2022 Welcome Steve Davy To further strengthen the business, Shaw has recently appointed another independent director to join the Shaw Board, former Hydro Chief Executive Steve Davy. In his time as Chief Executive at Hydro, Steve led Hydro's $2 billion business and was responsible for 1200 staff and 250,000 customers and also served in senior Board roles with the Australian Energy Council. Steve will bring a wide range of skills and knowledge to our Board including governance, financial management and a strong ethic of workplace safety.

11.01.2022 Welcome Dino and Brian Shaw welcomes Dino and Brian as new supervisors to the business. Dino Tedeschi... Dino is well known to Shaw having worked with VEC for nearly 20 years and most recently with the Shaw team on the first joint venture project at Perth to Breadalbane. He is a welcome addition to the project delivery team with his vast experience and knowledge. Brian Melia Brian relocated from Forestville, New South Wales to Hobart to join the southern team as a supervisor. He has worked in construction, civil, mining and gas industries for the past 20 years and we look forward to his contribution to the team.

10.01.2022 University Scholarship Winner - Oliver Marshall Shaw continues to invest for the future by providing undergraduate engineering scholarships to ensure the succession of the management teams to meet the increased demands of business development and project delivery. Shaw welcomes Oliver Marshall to the undergraduate... scholarship program, Oliver is a Launceston lad who is about to enter his third year of engineering at UTAS and we look forward to seeing him on project sites in the new year. Oliver will join Tom Ashlin as our scholarship holders with Ed Jones starting a full-time graduate engineer position once he completes his final exams.



08.01.2022 Shaw are proud to continue sponsorship of Circus Quirkus, a fantastic event hosted by the Rotary Club of Central Launceston for local special needs and disadvantaged children. The Rotary Club do an excellent job and have been running this event since 2001.

08.01.2022 Shaw were pleased to be involved, alongside a number of Tasmanian contractors, with the recent upgrade to the water main that runs across the Forth River bridge for TasWater. This project has been completed ahead of schedule and is great news for the local community, providing greater water reliability to the region for years to come. 07.01.2022 Farewell Tom Campbell Tom first started with Shaw in 2009 undertaking vacation work at the Dilston Bypass. After completing university, he joined the business full time and has worked on major projects as a site engineer and most recently as a project manager at the Mowbray Roundabout. Tom has been a great part of the team and we wish him all the best with his future endeavours.

02.01.2022 Tour de Kids 2020 Jess Bryant is riding with friend Ange Sanders in the Tour de Kids 2020 helping to raise money for sick kids. Jess has been doing a fantastic job in raising awareness and money in this area especially with her work at St Giles Society.
