24.01.2022 BACKYARD OASIS // POOLSIDE PAVING & DECKING Digging our deck and poolside landscape? This lifeless backyard with a recently built Granny flat and untidy pebble creek pool, lacked functionality and family-friendly appeal. Our Oak Flats clients provided a simple brief to makeover the pool area and create safe levelled paths, with easy access into the granny flat for the whole family.... Shaw Landscape Group installed a ‘breakout’ deck with longline steps using environmentally friendly composite decking. Ekodeck was chosen for its maximum durability, and resistance to fading and warping. Being splinter-free, Ekodeck is also kinder to kids and pets due to it’s comfortable touch. We then levelled the yard to create a number of safe walking areas around the pool and installed attractive tumbled and sanded marble pavers by Lifestile Pavers. By installing the paving all the way from the pool area through to the clients undercover patio, Shaw Landscape Group was able to achieve a consistent, family-friendly outdoor dining space. We collaborated with the client to select a suitable pool fence in compliance with industry regulations and ensured adequate drainage was installed. Exotic bamboo screening and garden beds with green foliage were planted to help break up the hard surfaces and create an enjoyable summer fun, poolside family oasis. 22.01.2022 Nothing kills one's creative flow more than a boring, bland work environment. When we settled into our new Unanderra office space in January of this year, we were faced with a concrete warehouse and an empty mezzanine. Essentially, we had a blank canvas of white and grey walls that were screaming for a splash of colour. Thank you to @clairefoxton and Kraken Kreative for working their magic and transforming our bland walls into a bright, colour bomb of design.... 17.01.2022 RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE PROJECT // MINIMAL CONTEMPORARY Shaw Landscape Group was invited to closely collaborate with Fairy Meadow clients to help them achieve a minimal, modern and formal landscape that complimented their contemporary house. Coming to us with a number of inspirational photos and an overall brief, we were able to quickly establish the look and feel of what our clients wanted to achieve with their landscaping. The north facing property which receives full sun al...so had existing elements which required consideration, such as a 1 metre high brick wall and exposed aggregate paths and driveway. Playing with contrasting materials, colours and elements, Shaw Landscape Group installed a contemporary garden landscape. Steel planter boxes layered with unique textural plants such as Casuarina (Cousin It), Magnolia Teddy Bears for height (green brown undertones) and Alternanthera (Little red ruby) add a subtle pop of bright colour. Dichondra repens (kidney weed) hugs the large offset steppers to create an attractive textural accent which helps to soften the hard concrete and steel garden edging. Premium quality Sir Walter Buffalo turf was also chosen to withstand the heat as a hardwearing, yet soft, drought tolerant grass variety. 06.01.2022 COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPING PROJECT // SENIOR LIVING In collaboration with Project Coordination, Shaw Landscape Group provided a tender and won the landscape component of Claymore’s newest Senior living complex. The project provides a high benchmark for the provision of social housing for seniors in NSW. The building is robustly constructed for low life-cycle cost and easy maintenance. Shaw Landscape Group was invited to beautify stage one of the project with the installation of ...soft landscape components such as soil, plants, turf and mulch. The plant palate included Blueberry Ash, Crepe Myrtle and Magnolias, as well as a selection of low maintenance native and exotic shrubs including Coastal Rosemary, Kangaroo Paw and Photinia. The installation of soft leaf Buffalo turf completed the commercial landscape. Shaw Landscape Group went on to landscape stage two of the project which has resulted in an ongoing relationship and builder partnership. We were also contracted to maintain the property to a presentable, horticultural standard for a period of 12 months. 04.01.2022 Every quarter the Shaw Landscape Group team gathers for a day of offsite training. Last Friday we met at City Beach Function Centre where we kicked off the day with an early team photoshoot with Children of the Revolution, followed by a morning of business updates, training, as well as stage #2 of our company wide personal development program with our extraordinary coach Jeffrey Slayter. At Shaw Landscape Group, we're not just a number. There's a personalisation and strong em...phasis on team culture and we use this time to celebrate our achievements, learn from one another and grow as individuals. Our guys and gals are one-of-a-kind creative, thoughtful, exceptional and hardworking. The day finished with a surf at City Beach and plenty of laughs.
