23.01.2022 Lead Me Through The Arch. On Sunday night I headed down to Bridgewater Bay in Blairgowrie, Mornington Peninsula and met up with Al from Alistair Wilson Photography. I hadn't shot at this location before but it was my last night camping down that way so I wanted to shoot something, anything! We knew there wasn't going to be a cloud in the sky, but the sun would line up with the arch in the bay, so we decided it was worth taking a look.... Before the sun dropped into the middle of the arch we took a few shots trying different compositions and angles, this being the result of one of those shots. All likes, comments and shares are greatly appreciated! :) Hope you enjoy!

22.01.2022 Dance With Dawn. Pulpit Rock, Cape Schanck. I finally dragged myself out of bed for a sunrise. There had been big storms the day and night before so it was either going to be hit or miss on this particular morning but I really wanted to shoot this location so it was going to be now or never! ... On arrival I was quite happy with conditions, except the clouds. They weren't perfect, but I hoped for the best. After scoping out a few different compositions I decided to shoot this one as soon as the sun hit the horizon rather than before or after, hoping for some colour to go with this particular shot and it all worked out perfect! I have also uploaded this on 500px so for anybody that uses it please head over and check it out (link in comments). Any shares/comments/likes are really appreciated!

14.01.2022 This weekend was spent in Phillip Island with a small crew of amazing photographers from Melbourne and all over Australia. We were given the opportunity to showcase Phillip Island and what it has to offer through our lenses, with a wide variety of attractions and landmarks to cover. This was shot last night at Cape Woolamai, in particular, The Pinnacles at Woolamai. To say it was amazing would be an understatement... it was so spectacular that I even stopped taking shots and just sat back to take in the incredible view. Hope you enjoy, stay tuned as a whole heap of images will be posted in the coming weeks :)

14.01.2022 Breaking Point. Met up with Al from Alistair Wilson Photography and headed down to Pearse's Beach in Blairgowrie on the Mornington Peninsula. I hadn't shot there before and went I got there I was blown away by how incredible it was! So many features to shoot, from tiny little waterfalls to massive surges and waves and water flowing off the edges of rocks.... I was there for almost 2 hours and only had the chance to shoot half of what I would have wanted! There were not many clouds visible as the sun hit the horizon which was really disappointed as it was quite a dull boring sky, until the sun went right below and a faint golden light painted the sky! This shot was a struggle to get. Bad angles, bad lighting, and I had no idea what the waves were going to do, and standing on the edge of a rocky flatform that waves would crash hard into was not ideal, but I came away with this! Hope you enjoy! All shares, comments, and likes a very much appreciated :) (This photograph is available to buy - I have put the link in the comments, any questions don't hesitate to ask)

12.01.2022 Had heaps of fun shooting the RSPCA Million Paws Walk in Whittlesea with Kate today, working on getting all the photos uploaded onto the computer and then here on FB and my website, it may take a few days though as there are so many! Stay tuned :)

12.01.2022 So on Saturday afternoon Kate and I took Koby down to the beach at Rye for his first time! Safe to say he loved it haha

12.01.2022 So this morning I headed out to Rye pier in search of a good sunrise. While camping down here I've had a super annoying bird wake me up at 5am every morning, perfect timing to get up for first light. The sunrise was good, but not great, and rose in a different place then I expected so instead of being disappointed I tried something new! :)

11.01.2022 Myself and girlfriend Kate recently went on a trip to Canada and Los Angeles. This trip was the first time in around a year or so that I had actually taken my camera out of its bag, and used it for my own personal photography. This was taken in Banff, Canada at the popular and world renowned Lake Louise. Temperatures here in the middle of the day average about -10C and of a night time as low as -25C! Any time of year, Banff is a place you have to witness once in your life. ...It is by far my favourite destination I have travelled so far, and can tell it will be extremely hard to beat. Hopefully I will upload some more photos of the trip soon so keep an eye out for them! Enjoy :) See more

11.01.2022 From Above. Another angle of the Pinnacles in Phillip Island. This location is by far the most impressive location I've shot. After a good 40 minute hike along beach and tracks, as you get to the end, you look down the cliffs and there are the Pinnacles, standing tall and ominous. You almost catch your breath when you see them, even after seeing plenty of photographs, it didn't come close to seeing them with my own eyes!... Definitely something to see if you ever get the chance, especially when it's so close to home! All likes, comments and shares are greatly appreciated as it means more people get to see my work without me paying Facebook for people to see it :)

10.01.2022 Somewhere Lost. This was taken in the depths of the Otway National Park on the Great Ocean Road while on the search for waterfalls. We had hiked 2 trails to find out towards the end that trees had blocked the path so badly there was no way to get through, which is very frustrating when you can actually hear the water falling from where we stood! - posted from Instagram

06.01.2022 Dragon Head Rock, Beach 16, Rye. This is quite an incredible location, as the main attraction is a rock formation that resembles a dragons head from certain angles. This isn't the best angle to see it, but you can get the idea, (a little bit further to the right is the best position for anybody interested). This was a tricky shoot, as there were absolutely no clouds to be seen, which in most cases is a photographers nightmare. It was looking to be quite a terrible sky until t...he sun dropped just below the horizon and shot all this amazing golden light into the sky! Quite a rare moment that I'm glad I was able to capture :) I have just recently updated my website with all new images and a bit of rearranging so please check it out if you get the chance. http://www.shawngilesphotography.com All comments/likes/shares are really appreciated :)

06.01.2022 I've decided to put together a calender for 2016! It will be based on landscape images taken from each month of the year, (using an image from last years December so I can get them printed in December this year). Would this be something people would be interested in? :)

05.01.2022 Alright, time to start shooting some portraits for 2015! First 3 people to book in are free because im feeling generous :) after that prices back to normal! Message the page if you're interested, have some sweet ideas and concepts ready to go!

05.01.2022 Happy Australia Day! This was from my recent trip to Phillip Island, and thought posting this little guy today would be a perfect way to celebrate being Australian, with such an iconic aussie animal - via Instagram

03.01.2022 'Unbreakable' On this particular morning at Cape Schanck, the sky split in two, with one half showered by the golden light of the sun rising on the clouds, and the other side a bright blue of the early morning sky. I released this image on one of the most popular quality photo sharing sites on the internet last night called 500px, and the response I have had on it has been overwhelming, where it is currently sitting on the front page in 'All Categories' and the front page of ...its specific genre of 'Landscapes'. If you want to see this image in high resolution without the terrible Facebook quality I will post the link in the comments section for you to check it out :) Australia.com | Visit Melbourne | LEE Filters
