24.01.2022 Love it when a job just goes smooth and everyone helps deliver a quality job to the client. A recent walk-in robe conversion into an en-suite has all come together and the finish is on point. Got the boys from @imperialwallandfloortiling to come in and do there thing and as always they delivered. #carpentry #carpenterlife #carpentryskills #bathroomrenovation #construction #tiling #skills #prideinworkmanship @shawthingcarpentry

23.01.2022 Starting this one today... converting an old walk in robe to and en-suite...

23.01.2022 Started my latest job last Friday with a bit of demo on a deck that’s seen better days, got it striped and did a bit of a site cut to make it a bit easier to work on as it’s on quite a hill, yesterday drilled all the post holes and set up the perimeter ready to start the posts.

21.01.2022 Had to repair some post for a veranda in Mt Eliza a few months ago. They have lasted 20 odd years but seen better days. They were a turned post and there were 6 in total so instead of replacing all 6 with brand new ones I cut and shut 5 and replaced 1 saving the client some $$. Without a lathe I had to turn the bottoms with a saw and chisel to attach to the foot, housed and dowel’d the joins for strength.. came up a treat. Sometimes a little time and effort repairing can be better than replacement. #proudchippy #chippylife #prideinworkmanship

20.01.2022 Before photo of this dark gloomy kitchen that had little light, I suggested the client put in a roof window. Allows natural light but also allows you to open it and improve air circulation in the home. After photo Is the difference. #proudchippy #carpentrylife

20.01.2022 Had a wicked run yesterday and got more done than planned, all post housed, pored 1 cube concrete, tidied up and bolted all posts plates etc then late arvo cut, and shot down all joists. Big day and couldn’t of pulled it off without the help from me old man. Cheers dad. #carpentry #carpenterlife #carpentryskills #construction #lovewhatyoudo #prideinworkmanship #decks #pergola #entertainingarea

18.01.2022 A retaining wall and parking area we created for a client back in 2016.... they wanted somewhere to be able to park their caravan.

18.01.2022 Latest bathroom reno ready for tiles... got the walls sheeted and the shaving cabinet in. Only having a small space to work with we have done our best to utilise the space available. Cavity slider takes up zero room, toilet with in wall cistern allows the toilet to sit closer to the wall and use less space. Looking forward to seeing this completed. @ Langwarrin, Victoria, Australia

17.01.2022 Progress update Tuesday 10th November..... And like that she’s all cut in and screwed off. Post have been cut to height next step is to make up and install the balustrade, screen the low side of the deck, and make up and install the stairs... #carpentry #carpenterlife #carpentryskills #construction #lovewhatyoudo #lovewood #prideinworkmanship #decks #entertainingarea #gotwood

16.01.2022 Throw back to an outside entertaining area we transformed. Originally the area was paved 4.5m x 5m, we pulled up the pavers and threw in a nice little 5.1m x 9m deck, then pulled down the old pergola that had seen better days and upgraded it to cover the entire deck. The client decided on a narrower 86mm spotted gum board over the more often used 140mm and I must say it’s made this already big deck feel twice the size and looks a treat. Love the look of the spotted gum board, the grain colour variation is amazing #carpentry #carpenterlife #carpentryskills #bathroomrenovation #construction #skills #prideinworkmanship

14.01.2022 Nothing more rewarding (other than being paid of course ) than a client gifting you something to thank you for the work and effort you put in. It’s the small things thank make it worth the effort. #proudcarpenter #carpentry #carpentryskills #carpentylife #building #pergola

11.01.2022 Had a little roof install for yesterday’s job... This small roof section was built awhile back, the heavy rain last weekend destroyed our temp water catchment setup. Gotta say looks trick and like it’s meant to be there. #carpentry #carpenterlife #carpentryskills #construction #skills #prideinworkmanship

10.01.2022 Solid day... cavity slider in, framing for recessed shaving cabinet and new window, niche and adjusted some walls to suit the shower, shower base in and floor sheeted. Plumbing getting don’t tomorrow, electrical rough in Monday then back to straighten the walls and sheet ready for tiles...

10.01.2022 Huge day today but so wrapped with what got done... 2/3 deck cut in majority screwed off... she’s starting to take shape #carpentry #carpenterlife #carpentryskills #construction #lovewhatyoudo #lovewood #prideinworkmanship #decks #entertainingarea #gotwood

10.01.2022 Coring out the last few holes for the glass balustrade stirrups.

09.01.2022 Devils in the the details. When the hallway direction and elevation changed we made sure the skirting followed. Work was done on a job we did for Wooden Perfection at a retirement village renovation back in 2018

06.01.2022 The young fella decided to come and give me a hand today throwing up the new rafters for the pergola... loved being up on the roof... kids got no fear!! #chippylife #carpentrytools #proudchippy #futurechippyinthemaking
