22.01.2022 Hello guys, election is well underway. I've been busy all morning setting up signs in 13 election locations. Thanks so much to my helpers. If anyone is keen for a bit of election fun and manning a booth i'd love your help. I've got 10 unmanned booths with only signs and flyers at them. My mum is doing a fabulous job at the TAFE on Klinger rd. Go give here some love and smiles if your voting up there. I'll be floating around and mostly at Scarborough school. 19.01.2022 A great day was has last Sunday at the Redcliffe markets. We took a risk, my friends and I, combing Ka huna massage and politics. I wanted to share as myself and get to know people as myself. Ka huna massage gave me great confidence to run in politics. It was great to meet so many people and talk to so many locals. The locals were definitely refreshed by our enthusiasm and good vibes. This week you can find me either at the pooling booth by the or holding wooble boards at the side of the road. 18.01.2022 With 90% of the votes counted the vote tally is at 699. Labor has won the seat but I am very pleased with the result. Not just for the tally, which is an exceptional result for a first time independent candidate, but for the amount of people who Ive communicated with that showed genuine interest and excitement for what I stand for and my policies and ideas. It was very encouraging. On a personal note I really loved the experience, learned a lot and I am very excited to conti...nue. I WILL BE RUNNING AGAIN. Im not decided at this stage if Ill go via the council election next year, which would be a smart move, but you will definitely see me running again soon in the most effective way. A big thanks to everyone who listened, voted, supported me with encouraging words, and particularly those who helped out with practical stuff. My mother in particular was an outstanding presence at the Redcliffe TAFE in polling day enthusiastically giving voters the option of an an independent candidate, without a break, from 8am to 6pm. 16.01.2022 Hello Peoples, Thanks for you patience. I wont be running this time in the Federal Election. Still listening, still committed but still not ready. Keep the passion alive. From Adrian Burragubba & Murrawah Johnson with Linda Bobongie (Chairperson) for the Wangan and Jagalingou Traditional Owners Family Council: Friends, Th...ere will be no surrender of our lands for now. Yesterday in the Federal Court we won an interim injunction. Justice Reeves made an order against the Queensland Government, preventing them from extinguishing our native title before we have our day in court. We are heading back to court for a hearing on 30 January 2018. This interim injunction offers us some respite. It ensures that extinguishment of our native title cannot be snuck through over the holiday period. Adani pressed hard and objected to the injunction. And the Queensland Government tried to preserve its ability to advance swiftly on the Adani project. We have restrained the Government and Adani from taking away our land rights - for now. We must continue our fight - and with your support we know we can, and that we will make a difference. Already the Government is feeling the heat from the thousands of calls and emails they received from you. In the end they didnt oppose the injunction. We are calling on the Government to take a more pro-active role in standing up for our rights, and not Adanis interests. The Government ignored us throughout the last term because they didnt want to take no for an answer. Its time they stopped to listen to us, and quit opposing us in the courts. Yesterday was a good start. Thank you again for your support at this important time. 05.01.2022 It is with great pleasure and sadness that I formally announce that I will not be running in the 2016 Queensland Council Elections for Redcliffe. I have not given up on the voters, family and friends who have supported me in the past in these endeavors. I am simply withdrawing my intention to contest this election. The basis of the decision was many faceted but in short I decided it was not the right time for me in this election. I think it takes a brave person to admit when ...there is something someone really wants to do but the signs are pointing elsewhere. It was a difficult decision to not run but my body has been telling me for some time its not my time. I am simply listening. I am in this only to provide solutions. I feel that just on integrity and honesty alone I would be of great service to our country and community in any form of political leadership position, I feel that would be enough to be of real service, but ultimately that is not just what I looking for. I am after real solutions to actual problems and implementing structures that support the collective magnificence we are as a people and the incredible resource we are provided with through our intelligence and the land itself. Thats the only game Im interested in playing here. Im looking for true healing not band-aids. After I decided to not run things became clearer especially the inner contentment at not running. Fundamentally what is true, I see, is there are two things going on. 1. There is an abundance of wealth in the land (and I dont just mean minerals) in its resources and its people and it can be used better. Our structures can serve mutual wealth. 2. Our communities can be places that make decisions and resolve issues. We can look each other in the eye to arrive at the truth as a whole and then support each other to implement it and be supported by our structures to aid that implementation. When we put two or more people together it is not about compromise to co-exist its about the truth that didnt exist before they came together. Community and Structure that serves our uninhibited voice. Thats where I am at. Of course there is a mountain of detail and work to head that way but Im up for it. Perhaps Im fighting waves of impossibility standing up for those things but I believe in it and Im not giving up. I know for a fact I am not alone in this. As always I reserve the right to be wrong and to change my mind on the details in order to stay true to a vision of service but fundamentally what wont change is the goal and that is to serve a better way. At this stage look out for me as an independent in the next Senate election - later this year I expect. Play with open hearts friends. Aloha
