21.01.2022 Some may have seen this post by Tas Police, which is not entirely correct. We assume they’ve shared this due to people operating scams through Gumtree & trying to rent property that does not belong to them....they get the money & the house is not available. Some real estate agents are however authorised with MyBond & can take bond payments, which they have then up to 10 days to pass on to MyBond. This is covered under strict legislation & guidelines. If you are renting through a private Landlord, we urge you to pay your bond through Service Tas, do not hand any funds for this to the Landlord.
