24.01.2022 - ? With dry conditions easing and increased access to stock feed, many producers are deciding t...o purchase livestock. It is essential to manage livestock during transport to reduce stress and minimise risks to animal welfare. Producers have an important role in ensuring they comply with the Animal Welfare Standards and guidelines for the land transport of livestock, along with any state based legislation. Here are our top tips for ensuring livestock are 'fit to load': 1. Don't transport sick, injured or heavily pregnant animals 2. Use low-stress handling techniques when loading and unloading stock 3. Don't conduct highlight stressful activities such as crutching, dipping or drenching prior to loading 4. Make sure all movement documents travelling with the livestock are completed, including National Sheep/Cattle Animal Health Declarations. Importance was placed on the nominee’s production experience and industry engagement, as well as ensuring representation across varying wool sectors, diverse production systems and different geographic areas. 10.01.2022 Meat & Livestock Australia domestic market manager, Graeme Yardy, said the campaign is designed to put Aussie Lamb front and centre in the lead up to Christmas using tasty and celebratory lamb dishes to inspire Aussies to cook and share lamb over the festive season. There is no better way to enjoy Aussie Lamb than to share it with our closest friends and families. As many Australians will come together this Christmas after such an extremely challenging year, we want them t...o do so with Aussie Lamb on their tables, Mr Yardy said. This is a key occasion when people get together and other proteins are traditionally featured throughout the festive season. This provides an opportunity for lamb to disrupt the seasonal norm and encourage Australians to enjoy the season with lamb instead. #sheepproducers #lamb #redmeat #sharethelamb
