23.01.2022 OASIS LIFE CARE MINISTRIES: We have just learned that one of the widows helping to cook food for the widows and orphans in Kantolomba in Zambia had her one room house demolished in a severe storm last week. (end of Feb 2020). A boulder keeping the plastic roof in place fell onto her sleeping son’s head, killing him. She now has no home and no bread winner - let alone the funds to rebuild. If just 211 people donate the cost of 3 coffees - it will build her a new one room well roofed ‘house’. If you’d like to check on the authenticity of this work please see OASIS LIFE CARE MINISTRIES Facebook page. And if you’d like to donate the Bank Account details are: BSB: 037604 ACCOUNT NO. 333630 put in the description ‘HOUSE’

21.01.2022 Great to see everyone this morning! Especially good to have a connection to Tandara.

21.01.2022 I see that nothing is wrong in this world can be made right outside of You. No conflict can ever be solved and no place of safety can ever be established withou...t You. You are the solution to every problem. Only Your love and peace can ever answer to our desperate need. Come, Lord Jesus, deliver us from evil, make Your face shine upon us and give us peace. In Jesus' name I pray. Stormie Omartian . I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth. Psalm 57:9-11 . (This excerpt can be found on page 240 in Stormie's book, PRAYER WARRIOR.) See more

18.01.2022 Psalm 25:16-22 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me. Guard my life and rescue me: do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you. Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles.

04.01.2022 The time of Advent is here. We prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus our Saviour.

02.01.2022 Palm Sunday. Jesus enters Jerusalem. A day for challenging the systems that dehumanise, oppress and discriminate. As a final way to reflect on Palm Sunday this... year, we encourage you to listen to Kev Carmody's song 'Cannot Buy My Soul' sung here by Archie Roach (watch below). "Jesus woke one morning, rode a donkey up through the gate. He could see quite clearly he was going to face his fate. And the powers that be, could see that he, could not be bought or sold. They took his life and liberty friends, but they could not buy his soul." In this powerful ballad Kev Carmody reminds us of the oppression that First Nations people experience. He also lists those who have stood up and fought back, in Australia and in other places. Jesus is included in the list of revolutionaries who stood up for justice and paid the price with their lives. Jesus embodies the power of a life lived where convictions cannot be bought or sold. Today we are reminded of all those refugees and asylum seekers who are carrying extra anxiety in the present context. Their lives and liberty matter. Justice for refugees isn’t just an issue to raise on Palm Sunday, but should be remembered all throughout the year. - Words by Rev Dr Katherine Rainger, who wrote a blog post last year reflecting on the Palm Sunday rally in Canberra. https://www.commongrace.org.au/palm_sunday_rally_for_refuge - View our Palm Sunday resources here: https://www.commongrace.org.au/palm_sunday_online
