24.01.2022 FW: URGENT - Restrictions for activities (including dancing, darts and pool/eightball) in premises where alcohol is sold. Good afternoon again everyone, I have been asked as a matter of urgency to send this to all Clubs. It is imperative that all Clubs fully understand the laws and restrictions in place for licensed premises. Please see below the email reiterating some important points from Sport & Rec. ... The most important thing to note is that you must only be seated in the areas that you are serving food or drink. None seated activities (including bowls) can only be performed in a separate area to where food and drink is sold. Therefore it is not possible for bowlers to have an alcoholic beverage at the end of their rink as an example or even seated at the side of the green. The consumption of food or alcohol must be in a separate room or bar facility where the patrons must be seated. If you require any further clarification around this please feel free to contact us or contact Business Tasmania. Kind Regards, Rebecca Van Asch I Chief Executive Officer Bowls Tasmania I PO Box 4041 I Invermay 7248 T: (03) 63317436 F: (03) 63317435 M: 0447 722 128

24.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM BOWLS NORTH-WEST Inc You may read messages or see information on bowls from other Facebook pages/groups/people, it does not necessarily mean the same for the North West. Bowls North West will follow advice from its controlling bodies - BA and BT, then decide through their Board on the best safe practice for its members on the coast. Please be aware any information will be given to NW members when its available. Facebook is a great tool to get informa...tion out there, but please read information correctly and make sure it is the correct information for your area. Be patient, be safe and do the right thing. We all want to be here to play bowls in the future. Regards Tracey Little

23.01.2022 STAGE 3 UPDATE As you are aware there has been some significant announcements today around moving to Stage 3 Restrictions as of 12pm this Friday 26th June. We ...are sure you are as happy as we are with this announcement as we head back to stronger numbers. Once the full list of guidelines for Sport & Recreation activities have been released on their website Bowls Tasmania will release the Stage 3 Return to Play Document specific for Lawn Bowls in Tasmania. This is simply to ensure that all Government regulations have been covered in the document.

23.01.2022 To all players and supporters, I threw the idea of a shirt with the Happy Bowler on the back. I posted a few photos with different colours, he has now designed on in a couple of colours from our shirt and pants. The price is the same, $60.00. If you want to do a carnival wearing the shirt, you will need to add the BA logo, which is $15.00 extra. Will need sizes and quantities, once received I will pm you with details for money.

18.01.2022 A letter from the President of Bowls Tasmania

18.01.2022 On 13 July 2017 Bingo started at Sheffield Bowls Club. It started as an suggestion from Kath & Mick Wootton at a Committee Meeting. After alot of detective work, Colleen found out that we needed a Licence, Bingo books and a machine. We borrowed a machine from Wynyard Bowls Club & compared to what we have now it was prehistoric. Our Bingo started on a Thursday night Colleen & Gena getting home around midnight. The players decided to make Bingo on a Tuesday afternoon, which is alot better. We would like to thank all the help over the years from Club members. Thank you the Bingo players for all the support you have given the Club, hopefully we have many more games to come.

17.01.2022 I'm sorry to have caused offence to the administrator with my recent post. The post was carefully worded and was not aimed at any individual. It was positive an...d complimentary in regard to all fellow players and received an overwhelming positive response from other players. No offensive language was used and I felt that in the light of there being no other venue to voice an opinion that is sincerely held by myself and many other players it was an appropriate post.. censorship of politely expressed views, which it would seem are shared by many caring people, does little to help anyone. I guess I hit a sore nerve with the administrator. See more
