22.01.2022 Feeling ALL of lifes pressures right now? Feeling a little [or a lot] off kilter? Experiencing an overly busy mind? Experiencing a greater sense of negative emotions?... You are not alone! Friday night I experienced broken sleep [aka over 2 hours of tossing and turning at 3:45am] with increasing feelings of anger and helplessness [all stemmed from the Political debacle Victoria is experiencing right now, not something I want to get into just yet] and crazily Shez was the same! Something we didnt know until the next morning. In that moment we both tried every mind calming tool in our toolbox [not knowing we were both having very similar experiences] but not even the beautiful rain on our roof could help either of us Yesterday I removed Facebook, Messenger and Instagram apps from my phone for the day and watched home Reno programs on Channel 54 and had a arvo sleep on the couch. Today I turned to journaling to clear my mind and release the amplified negative feelings Im experiencing. [Some of which I may share in the future.] After #iso 1.0 Ive learnt so much and can recognise the feelings Im experiencing before Im in the pit with my tent and deck chair ready to set up camp! Whilst the feelings are still there, they arent in the forefront of my mind and arent controlling my every move. And something that has absolutely remained consistent, is my commitment to training or moving my body every day. Without that, I know I would not have made it through #iso 1.0 and wont make it through #iso 2.0. Please ask for help if you need it and know its never a burden for us, regardless of what we have going on. Its actually therapeutic. Sending you all lots of love and strength P.S Shez and I also chose to bake the same thing with our girls today without speaking prior . . @mountainside_cb

19.01.2022 #challengeaccepted We have both been nominated several times [thank you beautiful ladies] and we will be honest when we do get tagged and nominated it a lot of posts. Then the beautiful @annarose_richards whom we both follow and respect [greatly] shared the following on her Instagram, which gave clarity and importance to the challenge and hence why we are accepting. We have full permission from Anna to share, as it does...Continue reading

16.01.2022 That one time we were in Vegas! For anyone that knows this story, here is the event unfolding

16.01.2022 Happy Thursday.. Kell here I was watching something this week on Instagram (I can’t recall what right now) yet something that was said really resonated with me. And it was.. "Welcome the unfollowers!... And I just found that such a powerful and timely reminder. Shez and I have always shared that not everyone is going to like you or what you have to say and that is ok. Over the last several months, I have personally ‘unfollowed’ many people across multiple platforms on social media because their content was no longer for me. Whether they had changed, their content had changed or [more than likely] I had changed is without judgement. What was most important to me was how I felt during and after consuming their content. I love consuming content that helps me grow, learn, laugh, [occasionally] cry, challenges my beliefs, broadens my knowledge, I find interesting and, at the end of an intense day, numbs my brain haha! For me, it’s not about always feeling happy and uplifted [that is 100% my job] it is about ME being highly conscious to how I truly feel and if the content is serving me. [I know that they nor their content can make me feel anything - that is always my choice!] So, if it isn’t for me, I simply unfollow. No negative comments, no sliding into DM’s, no blame, no judgement.. just a simple unfollow. I encourage you to do the same, I encourage you to do a social media inventory. Be conscious to; * who you are following * what you are consuming and * how you are left feeling. Then simply unfollow anyone that isn’t your jam.. even if that is us! Be ok with not all people are your people!

16.01.2022 We still would order the exact same thing... After this meal we wrote our very first ebook on Conflict Resolution. Can not believe it was 3 years ago.

14.01.2022 For any parent this is so funny as we begin another week of homeschooling #HugAPrick

14.01.2022 A tale of 2 families: Ive had a few days off screens... (more on that later) It forced me to do a few things I had been avoiding using the good old excuse when I have time. I decided it was well and truly time to go through the photo albums and I was amazed at what I found. Each year we have family photos taken by an incredible friend of mine. She so talented and every time we get the pics back Im thrilled with the results. ... It wasnt until I was sorting the photos that I held these two up against each other. I could not believe the story that each of them told me about myself. Picture 1: A woman who was obsessed with how she looked, what she weighed, the people she surrounded herself with. A woman that mothered her children the exact way her mother told her to because god forbid you went against the grain. A woman so concerned about the good opinion of others she wore every kind of mask there was to wear. (And I definitely dont mean the ones Ive been rocking lately) I not only masked myself I masked the girls and my husband too. Because imagine being different. I see hollow eyes and disconnection between a husband and wife. I see fake it till you make it. A woman who said the most negative things about herself when she looked in the mirror. All of the things I thought I was hiding are staring me right in the face. Picture 2: A woman that is in complete harmony with herself and her body. A connected family that have written their own rules and are living for what makes them happy not others. A woman who chose to listen to people that give her equal energy exchange, someone that dropped the burden of having to be something she isnt for people that didnt care in the first place. A mum that loves what she does and its not just being a mum. A mum bringing up 2 young women and knowing she will let them choose their own path. A woman who can laugh at herself. A husband and wife who laugh together have fun together and make time for each other. A women who can say NO. A woman that truly loves who she is and the people she is surrounded by. This post is not about what our readers can and cant see. Its about discovery. Choose the road less traveled. Go against the status quo. Be authentic. Take care of yourself first. Your worth it. A picture really does speak 1000 words.

14.01.2022 This ones for the scrollers... And Im going to make New Years Plans.. #2021

12.01.2022 This pic is an oldie but a goodie. Every time I see it it makes me laugh. I have no clue what was being said or who made the joke. (Its hard we are both so funny ) ... The message is to surround yourself with people who, are authentic, keep it real, have got your back, challenge you, make you better and most importantly make you laugh. A wise mentor once taught me. You are the sum of the 5 people you spend most of your time with. Who are your 5? Mountainside Photography https://www.facebook.com/MountainsideByCharlieBrown/

11.01.2022 Its Kell here.. Many years ago when we first worked with one of our mentors, he set us a 30 day challenge. That challenge was.... no blaming, no complaining and no justifying for 30 days. I want you to take a moment right now and think about your day today. How often did you blame, complain and / or justify? Now, dont get me wrong here, I am not even close to getting this right all the time and have done my fair share [well, to be honest its been far more than my *fair* sh...are] of complaining since COVID [I would challenge anyone that says they havent]. However, I do, do my best to accept responsibility of situations rather than justify [again, dont always get it right]. As the co-owner of this company, the buck stops with me and there is no other option than to accept 100% responsibility (and I know Shez is the same.) Today for example a beautiful client asked if something had been sent and it hadnt. I had completely forgotten to send it. No excuses, I simply didnt set a reminder in my phone and forgot. Now instead of justifying with some random excuses like the COVID situation, getting side tracked cancelling events, homeschooling or any other reason I could conjure up, I accepted responsibility that I had forgotten, apologised, thanked her for the reminder and Shez got it in the mail this afternoon. See justification by others [and by me] is one of my pet peeves [yes I do annoy myself all the freakin time]. I find it frustrating when people have a *reason* or an *answer* for everything rather than taking responsibility and ownership. Anyway, I dont want this post to be a rant! I would prefer it to be a reminder to check in with yourself and to be conscious of how much blaming, complaining and justifying you [and by you, I also mean me] do every day. Maybe you might take up the 30 day challenge?? Happy Monday . . Shez and I making gnocchi from scratch, for the first time, for a dinner party, in Canada that we royally f*#ked up!! Boy the self blame was strong that night but do you know what, it ended up being one of the most memorable dinner parties ever! The gnocchi became a side dish of burnt potato chips

08.01.2022 If you are anything like us, you might be feeling [particularly if you live in Victoria] a bit blah and a bit flat Maybe you are some lacking energy, maybe you arent sleeping as good as you could or maybe your nervous system is operating in over drive With gyms being closed (here in Vic) has your exercise has gone by the wayside? Is walking with a mask not your idea of getting outside and getting fresh air? Is the boredom of monotony got you eating more or eating less?... If any [or all] of these relate then maybe our Spring in your Step-tember is for you! We wanted and needed a focus heading into Spring and we have decided that focus is going to be ourselves... and we invite you to do the same - focus on YOU! Comment below or private message the page if you would like more information.

07.01.2022 Lest we forget

06.01.2022 If you dont laugh.. you cry

06.01.2022 There is no such thing as an overnight success!! This photo was taken 3.5 years ago, on a Sunday, as Shez and I [yep, Kell here] were putting together the final pieces of our very first 4 Day Retreat [an event we have never written an in depth post about due to feeling like it was almost unexplainable]. There was hours upon hours of work that went in to that event on top of the 12-14 hour days of the event. Now whether you [or we] would consider *us* a success is irrelevant ...because my point is.. too many of us [me included] compare ourselves to others.. be it business, career, fitness, income, happiness and the list goes on, without *really* knowing what goes on behind the scenes. No one wakes up a *success*, what ever the meaning you put behind that word. It takes time, perseverance, commitment, dedication, learning, unlearning, failing fast, failing forward, sleepless nights, sacrifices, tears, the occasional [ok, more than occasional] swear word, difficult conversations and did I mention time? So often all we see is the glory without knowing the story. Be clear on where you want to go and every day takes the steps towards it! Dont get distracted by the bright lights of someone elses highlight reel. Happy Sunday

05.01.2022 We have got this... we hope

05.01.2022 July clearly missed the memo

04.01.2022 Today is RUOK? day Australia wide and more than ever we know many many people are not ok [many days each and every week, we are not ok]! We love the initiative behind RUOK day and fully support the sentiment. Today though we know that [for us] popping up a post or sending a generic message to people just doesnt cut it. We were inspired by Matt Lawson Photography and Workshops post over on Instagram last night! ... We want to hear from you, we want you to share with us and we want to know why you are not ok today. #imnotokay Use the comments or private message us if you would prefer. Its brave to ask someone RUOK? It takes bravery to say IM NOT OK. Sending you all big love ... not just today but everyday

04.01.2022 So after the nationwide Telstra outage on Sunday, my [Kell here] NBN decided it was not going to reconnect. Yep, thats right no internet at home heading into Stage 3 restrictions and homeschooling 2.0. So fun.. not!! After attempting to call Telstra yesterday with no luck [only getting so far through the voice system before being told I couldnt talk to anyone as my case was not urgent and the call disconnected], I reported my fault via the App [as this was my only option]. ...Continue reading

03.01.2022 Friday Funny! This cracked me up!

03.01.2022 Happy Friday! . How is everyone doing? Its a little hard to know where to look and where to scroll at the moment.. so much noise! As so many of you know we live in a border town. So many services we use and love are something we can not attain at the moment. Its frustrating and heartbreaking for the businesses we see that are unable to service their loyal clients as they would want to. We want to see you too!... Its not just goods and services. Its local sport.. kids that are in teams on one side of the border however they live on the other can not travel across for 1 morning/afternoon of fun. Even if they have spent the entire week in the town at school on the weekend its a no go!! However... Please understand, when people are going above and beyond to help support your business or help include you and your child [or family] in their sporting plans please go above and beyond to acknowledge their time and effort in wanting to support you. Dont be flippant and half arsed about actually making happen the one thing you say is beyond your control. We KNOW things are uncertain... We KNOW things are definitely going to take that bit EXTRA... Are you willing to go the extra mile or are you taking easy street with this Perfect Storm Solution as your excuse? If you want these things [and your business] to be here after this is done... make sure you look after the ones that will support you, when its done. Huge shout out to the amazing people that continue to do the work. We see you and we appreciate you!

03.01.2022 FRIDAY FUNNY Last years Christmas quiz video - still gives us a great laugh.. hopefully it gives you one too

03.01.2022 Today, [with the heaviest of hearts] we made the decision to postpone all our 2020 scheduled events to 2021. We walked into our office this morning.. a new day, a new week, a new school term with a whiteboard filled with events scheduled for the remainder of 2020. [Two of which we had no choice to postpone last week when borders closed and restrictions were again tightened in Victoria.] We were living in hope that things may get better [COVID wise] and that the timing may mir...aculously align so we could still run the remaining 5 events. However when we *logically* looked at what was on the whiteboard, we knew that the experience for our attendees would not be the WOW factor we always want to deliver, and with that being the truth, our decision was then simple but still not easy. We of course will be honouring all tickets for our events and know that the wait will be well and truly worth it. Planning has begun for 2021.. stay tuned

03.01.2022 5 min Fix... Is it Sorry or Responsibility for you?

03.01.2022 We usually save these for our private Facebook groups. However Im feeling so rebellious now since my boarder crossing... Comment below you favorite Friday funny... Dont hold back... ... I want to see, a little wee came out funny!

02.01.2022 Throwback Thursday Our very first 2 Day Escape over 4 years ago at Lindenwarrah Milawa now known as Lancemore Milawa @merlot_dining . Somethings about that weekend:... * we forgot to book a room for Ame so she had to sleep in a swag on our floor * Shez had a family crisis call from her daughter just before the VIP dinner as their pet cat had died [We didnt share that until the next day] * we found the venue for the 4 Day Retreat in the lunch break of Day 2 because so many ladies wanted to attend * Kell had pink hair * Our belief in ourselves and SheKan grew exponentially in, at and following that event See more

01.01.2022 Who has got their Christmas decorations up already? Pop the relevant emoji in the comments to let us know; = yes... = no

01.01.2022 So... I was flicking through photos to find one that best sums up my feelings after Victorias announcement today and to be honest.. how can I? Does such a photo actually exist? Can one photo really capture feelings of frustration, sadness, disappointment, anger, uncertainty, anxiety, defeat, empathy and a hint of gratitude. Well there isnt one in my camera roll that does, but this one was *close enough*. My brain hurts as does my heart. I long for the day where I can hang o...ut with these beauties again and that our biggest defeat for the day is being beaten by *Escape Room*. Sending love and strength to all Victorians, look after your mental health
