21.01.2022 Hi all, As we still havent been directed by the government to close down, we will keep operating with tennis lessons, fixtures (except Wed ladies) and court hire. Regular disinfecting of all key areas is being carried out. We will maintain a maximum of 4 pupils per court and strongly adhere to social distancing. We have plenty of soap and paper towels for washing hands before and after play. Also no parents will be allowed on court to pick up balls with ball tubes as they ar...e only to be used by the coaches. This will minimise the risk a little more. Lets hope this virus can be quickly controlled so things can get back to normal. Everyone please take care. Dean & the team. Sheldon Tennis Centre

20.01.2022 To all our dedicated tennis families, Please see the following message which was an update by Tennis Qld on 9/4/2020. It is recommended that tennis centres with multi courts remain closed. I strongly feel that remaining shut is the action required to help minimise the virus. If Tennis Australia, Tennis Qld or the Prime Minister relax the restrictions then we will reconsider our decision. There is a strong possibility this will happen in the next 4 weeks.... Until then please stay safe and hopefully we will be seeing everyone again very soon. Regards Dean http://ebm.comms.tennis.com.au//hBejqvWB8tVdEB91/doc.html

09.01.2022 To all our dedicated Tennis families, Due to the Covid-19, Tennis QLD has issued a statement to temporarily cease all tennis activity across QLD from midnight tonight. It is the same now in all states of Australia. The health and safety of our families and coaches are our number one concern, and our decision to shut down is not taken lightly but is necessary.... We understand that this is a difficult and uncertain period for everyone. We are committed to ensuring all students have an opportunity to make up missed lessons or receive credits when we re-open. Keep yourself, your families, and your community safe. We will keep you informed on any developments and look forward to welcoming you back when this is possible. Thanks for everyone's continued loyal support. http://ebm.comms.tennis.com.au//hBefacxB8tVdEB91/doc.html

07.01.2022 Just because we are shut down doesn't mean we can't post tennis related videos. Here is day 1. By Brad Gilbert - Brad was a great player. He hovered around 10 in the world but could regularly beat any player ranked better than him due to his tactical brain. https://www.facebook.com/100001001340130/videos/2947961405247209/

07.01.2022 Hi all, Please see the following which updates the current state of tennis at our centre. Fixtures... Further to Scott Morrison's message last night regarding limiting number of persons at events, we have decided to cancel the last week of Friday evening A Grade and Saturday morning junior fixtures for Term 1 2020. The winners of this term's competitions are listed below. Thanks again for all your support during these difficult times. We will let you know in due course when the next competitions are likely to begin. Tennis Brisbane have also announced today that Super League for this season has been suspended. A Grade Winner: Ben Russell B Grade Winner: Caitlyn Addley, 2nd William Swan, 3rd Hannah Spink. C Grade Winner: Tegan Walker, 2nd Henry Duncan, 3rd Laura Paterson Coaching Individual and small groups of 4 coaching, will still go ahead. This includes Thursday squad training where we will break the kids into groups of 4. We will use as many courts as possible to keep the players apart. Continued good hygiene and social distancing to take place. Pupils are now not allowed to touch any court equipment including tennis balls. We would also appreciate if parents can stay away or sit in their cars to minimise numbers at the centre. We are doing everything we can under the guidelines available to maintain play at the centre. Everyone's health is the top priority but being able to hit a few tennis balls will maintain some normality in our lives. Everyone please stay safe and lets hope all this drama fades soon. Regards Dean and the team.
