23.01.2022 Multi-award-winner Cameron March, 2012 Alumnus, was the Commercial Film Director of the Sheldon College, Brisbane 'Achieve the Extraordinary' cinema advertisement campaign. 23.01.2022 Last Friday at our Graduation Ceremony, 2008 Alumnus Jack Kidd delivered an honest and powerful speech to our College Community. Jack’s speech was very different to what would normally be heard at a Graduation Ceremony at any school. He spoke passionately about the impact that his time at Sheldon College had in turning his life around after graduating in 2008. At the conclusion of the presentation, the audience was visibly moved, and they spontaneously gave Jack a standing o...vation. Thank you, Jack, for taking the time to reconnect with our Community, and for sharing your story wholeheartedly with us. It certainly was authentic, and your generous spirit was felt by everyone who had the chance to speak with you throughout the morning. For anyone who was unable to share in this experience with us last week, please note that you can view this presentation via https://bit.ly/35ODXUL.
22.01.2022 Congratulations and welcome to our newest Alumni, the Class of 2020! What an emotional ceremony your Graduation was today. We welcome you with open arms to the Sheldon Alumni, where you will always be part of the Sheldon family. A special thank you must go to today's guest speaker, Mr Jack Kidd (2008 Alumnus), for his incredibly honest and powerful speech.
22.01.2022 For anyone in the 2005 cohort who hasn't sent an RSVP for your 15 Year Reunion, we can include you in the numbers if you send us a super-quick reply today - or over the weekend at the latest! Don't miss out on this terrific get-together, to catch up with some of your classmates. (Mr Harvey and a couple of other teachers may even drop in to say hi!)
20.01.2022 Over the weekend, live music returned to the Sandstone Point Hotel with an all-Aussie line up including Tia Gostelow. Two of our Alumni, Baz Jennings-Hingston and Izzy DeLeon, featured as the drummer & bassist. To top off the weekend, they were part of The Sound on the ABC hosted by Jane Gazzo. Check out their performance of Tia Gostelow’s new track, Psycho. Baz and Izzy, we can’t wait to see what is in store for you in 2021 as live music makes its way back into our daily lives!
19.01.2022 It’s sad to farewell another Sheldon College staff member from years gone by. Today we fondly remember Mrs Maryanne Brown, who passed away recently following many months of illness. Our sincere condolences to Mrs Brown’s family. Maryanne joined Sheldon in 2000, and left in early 2008. She was super efficient as the Music/Arts Administrator, organising band and choir rehearsals and performances, timetabling music lessons, and much more. Maryanne was the go to person for anyt...hing Music-related. Students relied on Mrs Brown for sound advice when it was needed, and a loving heart any time at all! She was well liked and respected by her colleagues - some of whom still work at the College. Maryanne saw the Music program grow and flourish during those early years, while contributing to its success. We will remember Mrs Brown for her sense of fun, kindness, warmth, and genuine care.

03.01.2022 This week we are recognising the one and only Mr Brenton Campbell! Mr Campbell joined the Sheldon College Academic Staff in 2006 teaching Year 6 English and Humanities. 03.01.2022 Thanks to those who responded to last week's Throwback Thursday, you were correct! They were the loving eyes of Q Bear. Even though Q Bear has retired now, he will be remembered forever in the hearts and minds of so many Alumni and their families. Q Bear was part of the ‘Skills for Growing’ Pastoral Care Program, he had his very own scrapbook, where students could glue in photos and write about his adventures in their house. As the years went on, Q Bear had his own bag, with clothes, books and colouring in. He was used to recognise 4 C Champions within the Junior College for so many years, thank you Q Bear. If you have any photos with Q Bear, we would love to see them in the comments here!
02.01.2022 Tonight is very special for many of our 2005 and 2019 Alumni students, as they get together at different venues to renew friendships and swap stories, at their 15 Year and 1 Year Reunions. There's going to be a really good turnout at both events, and we wish them all a fabulous time catching up with one another! Check out the difference in the 2005 and 2019 Graduation photos! The Administration building wasn't there to fill that big gap until 2009. It certainly makes an impressive backdrop for the Graduates' final photos on campus.
