25.01.2022 Last night the unthinkable, unimaginable happened. Shelly's Sweet Cakes became the winner of 2020 Sole Operator of the Local Business Awards. I want to thank each and everyone one of my customers, family, friends, neighbours and other business for all your support and loyalty towards my vision. I would not be here today standing so proud holding this award without you. You rock!!!! Not only bring this award home to my community it's a hope that it will bring people from far... and wide to come to visit and check out some awesome, hard-working, vision inspired small businesses have to offer, but it was also for my late father, who was the heart, and rock of our family. My father taught his children and grandchildren to never give up on what you want, get back up when you get a knockdown, you can do anything if you work hard, play hard and love. 12.01.2022 The phone call today that I never expected. I'm now 2020 FINALIST for the Hunter Local Business Awards for Sole Operator. My heart skipped a few beats and pounded with excitement. Holding back the tears of joy and happiness was purely impossible. ... Becoming a finalist is beyond everything I excepted, it's still sinking in, truly blown me away. This time 12 months ago I was sitting in a room doing my Certificate III Micro Business course, never even dreaming of this happening to me, I was only thinking, how the crap am I going to get through this business plan lol. It's been a journey I could've ever imagined, that no one can prepare you for. The personal growth, the highs, the lows, the unknown paths, it been a ride I'm so thankful for and appreciate where it has taken me today. A massive shout out goes to all my customers and those who voted for my small business, I'm ever so grateful and can't thank you enough!!. This would never of been possible without you. This is just the beginning of my amazing business, that I love so much.
