23.01.2022 Hello all, now its my time for the Covid-19 post. I hope you're fighting fit and not getting too down in these difficult times. At the moment its business as usual in the bakery- bread delivery to your door on Wednesday and Fridays. My best pals-the hand wash, hand sanitiser, gloves and tongs, are in full, obsessive use, when making, packing and delivering your breads. All jokes aside, I'm taking it very seriously, and feel a great deal of responsibility.... I welcome you to continue to support my business and eat bread! It's going to take a big group effort to get through this. In the challenges ahead I hope we will come together, look after one another, and still enjoy the small pleasures of good food. Bake days are my favourite days, because its also delivery day, and thats when I get to talk to people (other than my bread babies). My bread is unpacked with care by a different chef each time. Sometimes I even get fed a tasty something. When youre dining at Chianti, ask them about the food on your plate, where doe...s it come from- they have all sorts of stories to tell. By talking and dealing directly with us- the farmers, bakers, fishers and growers, this team is playing a unique and important role of connecting consumers and producers. 04.01.2022 Yep it really does. Especially wholegrain sourdough. There are many reasons why like depth of flavour, high nutritional value, low GI (great for diabetes and blood sugar management). Sourdough is easily digestible with a high mineral bioavailability thanks to the slow fermentation process. Its also naturally mould resistant so it stays fresher longer! For me personally, making a wholesome whole grain loaf of sourdough is nourishing both mentally and physically it connects me to my family and deep roots on the farm in Lameroo. Providing me with a business that pays the bills and one that I love. Shaping dough is one of my favourite parts of the process and its therapeutic. It reduces stress levels (and on some days, induces!) I could go on and on... if youre still reading, good job why do YOU prefer sourdough? I want to know
