23.01.2022 Last night, Ms Jane Rinaldi accepted the Department of General Practice, 2019 Research Award - Excellent Contribution to Research by Practice Nurse. Jane and her nursing team (Jan, Gaynor, Allyson and Terence) received this award due to their phenomenal support of primary care research during 2019; always being committed, enthusiastic and bringing an upbeat, positive attitude to the research projects. Congratulations on behalf of the SMC team!

18.01.2022 Farewell to our amazing medical students Arkan, Claire and Isaac. During this unprecedented year, they have been blown away with how inclusive our patients have been, allowing them to be involved in their care and so giving of your time that's enabled them to learn and grow. A massive thank you to our patients!... From a practice perspective, we truly commend the professionalism, adaptability, flexibility, and team player approach they have all demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have offered help without being asked, rolled up their sleeves whenever they needed too, brought smiles to our faces, and kept us going. Thank you Arkan, Claire and Isaac!

17.01.2022 E-Prescriptions are now available! Patients who visit an Electronic Prescription enabled pharmacy can now have a 'token' script issued by your GP. The 'token' is sent to you via your preferred method (SMS or email) for each medication you are prescribed. Patients can then show this 'token' (SMS, email or paper print out) to the pharmacist and they will scan the barcode 'token' to activate the prescription and dispense your medication.... Our practice team will ask for consent to enable you for Electronic Prescribing and will confirm your preferred method for receiving your 'token'. Don't worry if you aren't ready to embrace e-prescriptions or if your usual pharmacy aren't ready yet, you can still continue to receive your script the traditional paper based way.

03.01.2022 Welcome back to the team Terence. On Wednesday, Terence rejoined our nursing team as Care Coordinator. Patients that participated in the Care Coordination Project over the last 18 months will remember Terence. Even thought the project may have finished, Terence is looking forward to assisting both familiar and some new faces too.
