This check could be achieved by asking customers to show their drivers’ license or Keypass ID. Regional businesses who do the right thing but are misled by someone intent on breaking the rules will not be fined under the changes. Instead, essential workers who have travelled from Melbourne found delibera...tely ignoring the restrictions will risk a fine of $1,652. The new requirement will apply to regional Victorian businesses in: Accommodation camping grounds, caravan parks, hotels, hostels, bed and breakfast and private holiday rentals (including Air B’n’Bs), where it is operated for the purpose of tourism food and beverage facilities cafes, restaurants, fast-food stores, canteens and wineries for seated service. A residence check will not be required for take away. personal services businesses hairdressers, beauty salons, tanning, nail salons. licensed tourism operators those who organise and operate licensed tourism services. Non essential individuals from Melbourne who are found in regional Victoria without a valid reason face fines of up to $4,957.
