25.01.2022 While we are unable to enjoy our annual festival, it is time to reflect on the past. What started out as just 5km and 10km races in 1986 at Princess Park was the foundation of the event that we have grown to love. #sheppartonrunningfestival #fromthearchives #SRF #Shepparton

18.01.2022 While we set off for our Sunday Long Run, if for training or to maintain fitness, it was in 1998 the Shepparton Running Festival incorporated a full 42.2km mara...thon, 21.1km half marathon and a 10km fun run into the festival. President at the time, Mr Gawne, said he would like to see 50 competitors, but 100 would be ecstatic. In 2019, the SRF saw 141 runners compete on the day. We hope to all our past and future competitors that their training still remains strong at we look forward to seeing them in 2021. Pictured from left are Tom Avram, Wayne Uhe, Garrie Scott, Brian Gawne, Lyn Gawne and Steve Trevaskis from 1998 that appeared in the Shepparton News. #SheppartonRunningFestival #SRF #SheppartonNews #Shepparton See more

17.01.2022 SRC training is back Tuesday November 24th! At The Botanical Gardens in Kialla with a 6pm start, followed by an easy run Thursday November 26th leaving Princess Park at 6pm Things to know: You will need to register via google forms to attend training each week. This form will be put into the SRC Members group page on Facebook on a Wednesday, and will then appear on this page on Friday if we haven’t reached our capacity of 50 people. ... SRC members page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/213896859821732/?ref=share (yes you do need to be a paid up member to access this group) FAQ’s Do I need to register for Tuesday and Thursday? No, the form will allow you to nominate Tuesday, Thursday or both. However a fresh form will be up to register for the following weeks training. Do I have to wear a mask? You need to follow the COVID safe guidelines, so have your mask with you and respect social distancing guidelines etc... Can non-members train with the group? Absolutely! However as groups are capped at 50 we are giving our members the first opportunity to fill the spots. Are there any events planned for this year? No handicaps, however we are planning on holding The Michigan on Sunday December 20th at Princess Park. Are we at botanical gardens every week? No, we will be mixing the training locations around to add some variety to training and to keep away from the lake while parking is minimal and as there will be large groups at the skate park and playground areas. When is parkrun coming back? We don’t know, but you can grab a sausage in bread at Bunnings if that helps. See you at training soon, Chris

17.01.2022 For anyone out there planning to be running a marathon at 2am. For everyone else, remember we lose an hour tonight. Enjoy your long run tomorrow morning.

16.01.2022 We love our course and running along the Goulburn River. It was in 2013 that the Festival made the move to start and finish at Victoria Park Lake. We love showc...asing the beautiful Goulburn River with the wattle blooming, as well as the lake precinct. In 2021 we will hopefully be able to show more of what Shepparton has to offer with a new Shepparton Art Museum situated at the lake. #SheppartonRunningFestival #SRF #WINTV #Shepparton #runshepp See more
