24.01.2022 Back to work! I started a new job in accounting today, it was brilliant. I was able to focus on my tasks, speak without interruptions, and learn new things. So much learning! Things will probably get a little quieter here at Sherbet Handmade. If you have an existing custom order, you will still get it made for you, don’t you worry about that! ... 04.01.2022 Farewell from Sherbet Handmade I’m so grateful for all the amazing people I met on this journey, for all the fun custom orders and the excitement of seeing packages arrive. . I loved stocking items in retail stores and then having the honour of meeting customers and fellow business owners at Olive Tree Market. . You guys made this experience special. THANK YOU.... . I’m very confident in my decision to close this business for two reasons. Most importantly, my family. When I’m home I want to be present and live in the moment. When you work from home around kids, you can’t switch off. I’ve been a crap mum for the past year and a bit, and I feel so guilty for it. . Secondly, selling handmade items is a luxury- your income is sporadic and depends on favourable timing and economic conditions. It’s tough going. Since going back to work I’ve been able to feel a financial relief I hadn’t had in over 7 years. . I will miss so much about sewing for you guys, but will still sew as a hobby (@meljsim).
