13.01.2022 The conversation about time these days and finding time to REST is more about how we don't have time, or where am I going to find time for that? Can I be PRESENT, truly present, and really sink into this moment to allow myself to rest? Guess what, you can. There are so many activities, rituals or practices that we already do, that can be our REST time and enable us to truly be PRESENT in the moment and experience all that it has to offer.... Today I started to list the many different ways I get REST to be truly PRESENT. I was quite surprised at how many ways I achieve it. It may be 1 minute, 5 minutes or more. Whatever the timeframe it is a practice that I find allows me to be truly present 'in the moment' and have REST. I share with you my list. Refreshing shower - feel the warm water on my back Soak in the bath - allow the calming water to carry me Conscious breathing - breath deep into my heart space Tea ritual - brew my favourite tea and drink slowly Walking on grass - grounding Walking on sand with my feet in the water Simply close my eyes and 'be' A hug from a loved one A walk in fresh air Turn off noise and just be Splash water on my face Music to slow me down Walking meditation Glass of wine on the porch Take of the day and put on my Pyjamas Cleaning - fresh outlook Cuddles with my dog Burning ritual - letting go of unwanted feelings Sing Dance - feel the freedom to be silly Dipping toes in water Sitting on the edge of the pool dangling my legs in before of jump in Stretching out after gym Journalling CHALLENGE TIME I now challenge everyone to add to the list in the comments below. 11.01.2022 When you change your environment you change your outlook and the outcome. You are the writer of your story, the controller of your journey so take control! focus on what you want in your surroundings, your energy, and your tribe, visualise and it will come. This morning on my run I made a commitment to myself to run, enjoy the experience, be open to what was around me, there is no need to clock watch, just run and visualise what I wanted to be the outcome. So I did. ... It was a fabulous run, my mind was open yet focused on a good pace and my body sensed it and delivered. There is research to show that visualisation and trust in the mind can deliver greater results than training alone. Give it a try.
