12.01.2022 Thinking of all our wonderful Mum's & sending our best wishes for a lovely Mother's Day tomorrow

12.01.2022 SRSC is a locally owned & operated family business which has been a strong contributor to the local community for over 45yrs! During this time, our team of instructors have taught countless children to become capable & safe swimmers. Many of these children have since brought their own children for lessons & quite a few have gone on to become instructors sharing their love of aquatic activities to another generation. The Centre has also hosted & supported 2 swimming clubs; na...mely The Reynella Swimming Club & The Fleurieu Swimming Club. Through our association with these clubs, we have had the opportunity to encourage, support & guide many young swimming enthusiasts to follow their dreams & goals As an active supporter of the community we have proudly helped many local kindergartens, schools & other community organisations reach their fundraising goals by generously donating vouchers for activities such as our Learn2Swim, Aquafit, Exercise & Lap Swimming programs. It has never been more important, especially during these current times, that we stand together as a community to support each other. Our local Onkaparinga candidate, Mark Dibdin, highlighted this recently in one of his posts which we've been able to share below.

12.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces tomorrow for the beginning of Block 1 & our Holiday Swim Program

12.01.2022 During these times of community uncertainty Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre continues to be guided by advice from our Federal and State Government authorities. Many members of the community would now be aware that the Government is: Encouraging social distancing measures and has introduced a ban on non-essential gatherings of over 100 people. Advising that schools remain open to us, that includes our Learn2Swim School program.... We are, and will continue to, adhere to Government requirements.. There are some simple and practical ways our customers can assist us to meet these requirements. When attending swimming lessons please: minimise (as much as possible) the number of adults attending lessons with children. maintain a healthy distance apart within our facility both in the Reception and Pool Deck areas. adhere to personal hygiene/cleaning habits consider paying with a card, rather than cash consider showering children at home after lessons. As has always been the case - stay away if you are unwell, and keep us informed. Our small, family owned business is committed to staying open for as long as the Government advice is that the health of our customers and staff is not at risk. We appreciate the support families are giving us during these challenging times.

11.01.2022 It's been so good to welcome everyone back this week. Please remember to check-in each time you attend our Centre. This can be done via your mobile phone or manually at Reception.... Thank you for your cooperation and understanding

Hopefully we'll have a better understanding on or before the 8th of June when Step 2 measures come into effect.... Please continue to follow us on Facebook to keep up-to-date with any developments. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing staff, members and the broader community for all your understanding and support during this time. 05.01.2022 While the easing of restrictions is great news and we are starting to see life returning to the new "norm", we still need to remain closed at this stage. Due to the nature of our business and size of our operations, we are still unable to operate under these current regulations. We are however getting excited for the next stage and have been busy working at the swim centre to get everything ready for our re-opening. Please continue to follow us on Facebook for further updat...es and we'll be sending out an email to all our current customers just prior to our scheduled opening. Thank you again for your support and understanding during this time. We have truly been humbled by everyone's kindness. Here's some inspiration for you all! Unsure about his technique, but our team of instructors think it's an interesting solution to working on your swimming before adding too much water

04.01.2022 RETIREMENT NEWS! One of our much loved SRSC family members has announced their retirement. We take this opportunity to wish Jan much happiness in her next chapter. To say she will be sorely missed, is an understatement.... Jan has been a part of SRSC for over 35 years & during her time she has positively influenced many of us. She has had a variety of different roles within the Centre from Swim Instructor all the way through to Manager. Jan has played an integral part in guiding many new staff members through their training & has taught countless children to swim. She has helped shape the Centre to be what it is today, a wonderful family friendly environment where all feel welcome. Family is of course very important to Jan. She loves, protects & guides them through thick & thin. They are her world! Jan has made life long friends throughout her time here (we count as extended family!). We'll all miss her humour, laughter & warmth. She's one of kind! May your pegs match perfectly, your car radio volume stay on the even numbers & your bank notes forever window face! On behalf of Management, staff, our many SRSC families & the broader local community we wish you love, light & happiness

03.01.2022 It's certainly been a mammoth week welcoming everyone back to the pool & it's been wonderful to see all your smiling faces again We thank you for your patience & understanding as we've navigated our way through these weeks. It's been such a blessing to have your support throughout these uncertain times. Really 'thank you', just doesn't seem enough sometimes! Remember to adhere to social distancing within the Centre & limit numbers in our Changerooms by swim, wrap to keep ...warm & go! Our team at SRSC would love for you to spread the word to family & friends that we have re-opened. See you all again this coming week!

03.01.2022 We are so fortunate in Australia to have easy access to many different fun water based activities such as surfing, snorkelling, boggie boarding, kayaking, fishing, boating, water skiing, etc The list is endless really! By supporting our children to develop a love of water & gain effective swimming skills, we are really opening the door for them to enjoy lifelong aquatic activities.... The SRSC pool reaches a depth of 1.8 metres With small numbers in our classes, we have the unique opportunity for our weekly lessons to include the teaching of deep water aquatic skills throughout all levels of our learn2swim programs. This is a huge benefit to children in many ways. It allows them to become familiar with the sensation of being unable to touch the bottom of the pool; this enables them to constantly build their confidence because they are regularly swimming out of their depth. Our team can also teach your children how to jump & dive safely into deep water & these skills are reinforced through our regular ongoing program. With the warmer weather soon upon us & with families enjoying so many aquatic activities, it's never been more important to give your children effective swimming & deep water skills

02.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder the pool re-opens with our regular programs on Monday July 20. Holiday Swim Program July 13-17. Please ring our office to confirm your booking.... Our team at SRSC are looking forward to seeing you all again.
