24.01.2022 Dearest All, I have decided to self isolate. I have no symptoms, I have had no known contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19. I have also had no contact with anyone who has travelled overseas. ... I have still decided to self isolate. I did go out over the weekend, tried to social-distance as much as I could, and used good hygiene practices. But for me, the potential risk to you is too high. Kelly Sanders - Remedial Massage Therapist and I have had many conversations over the past few weeks about increasing our hygiene measures and decreasing cross contamination risk for your safety and ours. We already change our linen between every client, and wash that linen regularly at high temperatures, and wash our hands before and after each treatment. We have added more time in between each session, we are cleaning down communal surfaces between each client and I am self isolating. In this crucial time keeping the numbers on people in our clinic as a time also decreases the chances of cross contamination. As it stands I will be back just after Easter. In the mean time, please stay away if you have any flu like symptoms, use your best judgement for your comings and goings, and feel free to come in and see Kelly in the mean time. Oh and also, wash your hands I am thinking of you all! - Sherri
23.01.2022 What are you doing this Sunday to Self-Care?
19.01.2022 Another Covid-19 Closure Dearest All, Your health and well-being has always been my highest priority. We are globally in the throws of the most impactful health crisis of our time. ... I have endeavoured to provide safe care to you and as well as comply with restrictions on business for our community and nation. With this in mind I have been given a specific directive from my association that in QLD Remedial Massage and Myotherapy clinics are required to close. My plan at this stage is to reopen when it is safe to do so. I have no way of knowing when this would be. I will also let you know if I will have new hygiene or social distancing measures at that time. I am so sorry for the impact this will have on your life. Lastly, let me thank you for being you. For making my job something I am sad to be without for the foreseeable future. I look forward to coming out the other side of this and being there for you again. Feel free to contact me via my Facebook page in the mean time to stay in touch! -Sherri

14.01.2022 Covid-19 Update AGAIN I am sure that you are all as sick of these as I am. But this time I bring good news! After much thought and deliberation I have decided to start practising again with stage 2 of the easing of restrictions in QLD. My first day will be Monday the 15th of June.... Numbers of cases have continued to go down where I live, so I am feeling much more comfortable with being in Toowoomba. There are a couple of things that you should be aware of as we embark on the 'new normal'. All of these changes going forward are to keep as many of us safe as possible by making social distancing and infection control as easy as possible. - During Stage 2 I am only working Monday and Tuesday - You will be asked to complete an Infectious Diseases Declaration every time you come in - You will not be allowed to bring other people into the clinic with you - The clinic door will be locked during appointments, so if you are early stay in your car till closer to your appointment time - I will not be able to treat over your allotted time if you are late, and you will have to pay for the full time - Appointment times are my appointment times I can't see you earlier or later, hopefully as restrictions begin to ease I will be able to be a little more flexible but at the moment it adds too much risk - PLEASE DO NOT COME IN IF YOU ARE SICK, I think we have all learnt that lesson over the past months! I am SOOO looking forward to seeing to all again! Please text 0458277889 if you would like an appointment.
14.01.2022 Do you have anxious brained humans in your world? I certainly do. This video is a great watch for some easy ways to be a helpful human! https://www.facebook.com/JugglingTheJenkinsBlog/videos/3325439557485018/?v=3325439557485018
13.01.2022 COVID UPDATE As some of you may know the QLD Health Department has deemed remedial massage and Myotherapy as 'essential'. So practices and clinics are allowed to open up again. I have decided NOT to open yet. I live away from Toowoomba and feel that I would be too large an infection risk coming back into the Toowoomba community. The nature of my work means that we are all so vulnerable to each other. I did not come to this decision lightly. Its been a roller coaster during ...these unprecedented times. Trying to make the BEST decision is certainly not an easy task. I will give you all another update when I have a better idea about when I will be practicing again and what changes there may be to you. Thank you all for your patients and support. I hope you are all well, and I am looking forward to being able to help keeping you at your best in the future. See more

08.01.2022 I have had SO MANY people come in recently who have ended up seeing health care professionals and not feeling like there has been any improvement to their symptoms. So I thought today we could talk about what to look for in a health care professional. Let me start by saying this is just an initial list with nothing specific and also NOT at all to be used instead of health care advice. 1) YOU KNOW YOU. you know what is normal for you, you know what is abnormal for you and yo...u know what you are feeling right now. I don't see someone again if I don't feel like they really heard me. You are there to gain the benefit from someone’s expertise and experience, so treatment options should be up to them. BUT if they don't hear your symptom-ology and history properly they won't be able to make the best choices. Don't second guess yourself. Tell them honestly how you are feeling, answer their questions as best you can, let them know what’s normal for you and what isn't. 2) TRUST YOURSELF. If you are engaging with a health care professional that you will be spending a bit of time with, or someone who has to touch you (like my work) you have to trust them. Or at least like them. If they creep you out, give you a bad vibe, make you feel uncomfortable or you just don't get along you are WELCOME to leave, or not go back, or ask for a referral. You don't HAVE to see anyone you don't want to. 3) ASK SOME QUESTIONS. If you want to know who to book in with, you can call around and ask if they have treated something similar before, what expectations you should have, or even if their kind of work is best for you. I don't know a single health care professional who is unhappy to answer in-good-faith questions. See more
07.01.2022 This beautiful Peice of incredible art (from Eleonora's Oil Paintings) hangs above my bed. The pheonix as a mythical creature has always been fascinating to me, and the colours make my heart sing. It was the thing I bought for myself after my ex and I seperated, it helps remind me that something strong and beautiful can come from what seems like ashes. I would love to know what your favourite piece in your house is? Did you paint it? One of the grandkids maybe? What does it mean to you?
07.01.2022 Info Bite Day! One of the things that I find SO incredible about bodies is how they protect themselves. When a tissue could become injured, your nervous system steps in with protective measures that make sure you are safe and well. Muscles specificly can be held them short so they don't tear, tense so they have enough strength to do what you're asking, lock down so that movement isn't possible, be flooded with inflammation to begin healing and prevent further injury. ... INCREDIBLE! These are all helpful and wonderful things you don't ever have to think about. Your body, just going on, being the hero it is, to stay protected. Go bodies!
