17.01.2022 Australian PM has just announced $150 million to support domestic violence services. Reports are showing google searches relating to DV have increased by 75% since lockdowns and self-isolation started. We can expect a rise of DV where victims are now isolated with their perpetrators who are feeling stressed, anxious and do not have control.... This Saturday belly dancers around the world virtually unite to take part in Shimmy Mob by performing the same choreography to raise funds and awareness for their local domestic violence services. Team Cairns is fundraising for Cairns Regional Domestic Violence Service Inc who provide vital support to victims of domestic violence in our region. Domestic violence cases have significantly multiplied in the last couple of months as many victims are trapped at home with their perpetrators (who are not in control, stressed and anxious). Victims include children, women and men.
