22.01.2022 Hi all, well here we go again back to zoom online classes for the next six weeks. The time table will be the same as last time with the addition of a Thursday 6.00 p.m specialist class alternating weekly between Kumite and Kata. I encourage all advanced members to take advantage of the Friday night class. Emails have been sent to all members with the timetable and zoom log in details. 21.01.2022 Hi all, as you are know doubt aware we will be closed till at least the 14th April, as per the State govt health recommendations. I hope all our shindo family are safe during these trying times. Please keep an eye on this page and we will let you about our virtual on line training. This also means all gradings will be postponed. Train at home, and please take notice of the covid 19 health warnings, social distance etc. Stay safe everybody. Sensei Phil.

21.01.2022 Dear parents and members, Many of you will already have received the notice in relation to precautions we have put in place to ensure Shindo Karate remains a sa...fe environment for our members and their families. In particular all Students and Instructors are to wash hands with soap before entering class and all equipment is being regulatory disinfected. If any members experience cold or flu like symptoms such as runny nose, cough, fever or sore throat please stay home from class. Make up classes are available and if it becomes necessary additional special make up classes will be scheduled. If you have returned or will be returning from overseas travel please contact us to discuss whether a 14 day delay in returning to the club is warranted. In these circumstances suspension or refund of fees will be available. We hope you will support these measures we have put in place. We will continue to monitor the latest advice from government, most specifically the Ministry of Health and the Education Department.

21.01.2022 Results from yesterday’s Victorian Championships 11 Gold 12 Silver 16 Bronze Congratulations to all of our competitors on how well they performed. ... It was very satisfying that our medals came across the full range of divisions from the 9 year olds right up to Seniors. Also the continued improvement in the Kata program. Always hard to pick highlights with so many competitors. Was it the continued rise of Peyton Maier who won her second Gold in two weeks. The return to form of Teak Grogan for Gold in the Junior Boys +76kg. The precision of Charlie Oughtred in the 12/13 Boys. The All Shindo finals. Steffi Phillipou and Gemma Reid in 10/11 Girls and Brent McInnes and Jacob Attard in the Junior Boys. The courage of some of our youngest first timers. I see bright futures for Cooper Wright, Ruby Richard, Ruby Westhead and Kaya Obremski Finn. The continued dominance of Ben DeBortoli who walked away with two Gold. As always thank you to our coaches, Sensei Phil, Zahli, Mitchell, Rod and Ella who all did a wonderful job and thank you to our parents for all your support. Special thanks to all those who volunteered their time to ensure the smooth running of the event, the referees, the table officials, the marshalls and event management.

15.01.2022 Hi all, no doubt you all saw the premiers announcement yesterday, which means we will be effectively back to the dojo on the 23rd June in some way shape or form. Obviously we still have concerns, so we will still be strongly applying the recommendations from the government health experts to provide a safe facility for members to train in. In the meantime, we will still be conducting zoom classes on Monday 5.20 p.m. for little ninjas, 6.00 p.m. for juniors, and 7 .00 p.m. for Seniors. 06.01.2022 Hi all, we are back on Monday the 22nd June, so happy. The time table will be virtually the same with shorter class times to allow for the entry and exit strategies we are putting in place to be Covid safe. Litttle ninja classes will be starting at 5.20 p.m. till 5.50 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Junior advanced will be 6.00 p.m. till 5.50 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, Junior beginners will be 6.00 p.m. till 6.50 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Brown belt and above will be Tuesday 7.00 p...m till 7.50p.m. Junior sparring class 7.00pm till 7.50pm. Seniors are 7.00p.m Monday and Wednesday, 8.00pm Tuesday and Thursday, Black belt preparation class 7.00pm till 8.30 pm. All classes will be structured to maintain social distancing 1 student for every four metres square. There will be no spectators allowed, parents will have to stay in their cars, until either Ben or Soky come out and escort you in. All students will have their temeprature monitored upon entry, hand sanitising stations will be just inside the entry of the dojo, and the matted area. Entry will be through main entry. Exit will be only through side door next to roller door. There will be no entry until the last class have all exited. Please if you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms you must stay at home. The dojo will cleaned before and after every class to ensure a safe environment. All instructors have undergone a Covid safety coaches course. Seniors will have to book a place in the class as their are still restriction on numbers. Any juniors currently training in the senior class will have to train in the Juniors class until the covid restrictions are lifted. If there are any questions please contact myself or Soky. The feedback so far has been fantastic, obviously, there are some limitations to online delivery, but it does help maintain and improve basic karate and fitness. If you have not tried it yet, it is quite easy. If you need assistance contact us. From the 1st May, we will be introducing a monthly fee for online zoom classes until the COVID 19 restrictions are lifted. You will need to have paid this fee to be ab...le to receive the new ID log on and password. Once you are financial these codes will be emailed to you or text. If training resumes back to stage two restrictions on May 11, fees will be charged pro-rata to the remaining time of the month or term left. There will be a grading held at the end of the term either online or at the dojo. 02.01.2022 Hi all, just a quick reminder that we are back to the dojo this week, under a strict COVID safe plan. You will not be able to enter dojo until summoned. You must undergo temperature check then hand sanatize. You must wear a mask on entry and keep it on when not training. Unfortunately we are unable to allow spectators. If you or your child have any cold like symptoms you must stay home. Classes are limited to 20 under 18’s and 10 for over 18’s so you need to let myself or Soky know if your attending class.
