Yep, you should IF: + You're a service business + It's just you (or mainly you) in the business... + Your customers will have direct contact with you + Your copy uses the first person "I" + Your name is in the business name Which means that you should absolutely include images of yourself on your website. I was recently chatting with @samoneshepherdson about this for hew new site (which I wrote ), and it's something a lot of biz owners feel unsure about. But if people expect to work directly with you and you use "I" in your website copy and communications, you are essentially the face of your brand. You don't need to splash your face all over every touchpoint. Do what's right for *you*. But anything that makes your brand more human - like your lovely face - is instantly more compelling. 23.01.2022 Let’s talk stuffing for a second. The keyword kind, not the Christmas turkey kind. SEO copy has gotta make sense to humans to make sense to Google. In that order. ... I repeat: Humans first, search engines second. Donut drop in your keywords just for the sake of it. You use them where it makes natural sense in your copy. Not sure how? Read it aloud: if it feels clunky and you stumble over yourself, Google will too. Your take away from this post? Write like you talk. @studio_ampersand

20.01.2022 Something’s going on in the world that doesn’t sit right with me. the ethical move sums it up: The world is shaped by how we buy and sell: we are trapped in an endless loop of wanting and buying more. For a long time I’ve thought about how this plays out as a business owner and as a sustainably focused human. ... And now I'm making a pledge with @theethicalmove because I'm over the shade and haze that comes with sales BS. Sales isn't about taking your bucks. It's about meeting a need and solving an actual problem. Not convincing people to buy landfill they don't need because we're enslaved in this mindset of want, buy, consume. I'm breaking that buy-buy-brainwash. My ethical pledge includes: I will change pricing from "charm prices'"($297) to round numbers ($300). I won't use countdown timers to drive a sale. This is a pressure-free space. I am honest about availability. No false scarcity. I am transparent in my email list building. I deliver the value I promise pitch-conscious. i.e no bait and switch. I will not use social issues to leverage my marketing. No woke washing here. I will not make false promises in my sales and marketing. Shady marketing tactics are what you won’t find with me. I'm black and white - except when I'm vibrantly filling your feed with colour.

There’s more to running a successful business than slogging your socials. There’s more to living a joyful life than breathing your business 24/7. There’s more to life than likes and a pretty feed. Like... actually doing the work. Connecting with clients in real life. Planning for 2021. Proofing copy decks. Doing some brand work for my own rebrand and website. Exploring beaches and pockets of Sydney I’ve never seen before. Preparing for Christmas. Pre school graduation. Getting together with friends. Learning to make kokedama. And all the other mumlife things that have needed more attention than FB lately. Now, here I am. Hurtling towards Christmas, holidays and taking life a little slower.

You could load up your keywords in every sentence, get the Yoast green light and not rank for a single thing. ... Yoast only rates your content on your specified focus keyword. It doesn't recognise synonyms, secondary phrases, plurals or partial matches. Good SEO copy doesn't make you sound like a robot repeating keywords all over the place - so don't stress out if Yoast doesn't green light your page content. Instead... Sprinkle your keywords like chia on a smoothie. Don't slather them over your page like Nutella on a crepe. Why? Because Google rewards you for natural copy that uses keywords in a human way.
