25.01.2022 Health incorporates so many parts of our life and it certainly can be a juggling act at times. Its so much more than exercising and eating well. Take time to yourself when you need it and surround yourself with people that support you on your journey. Mental and physical health are intertwined and both are as important as each other.



25.01.2022 Good food can come in a packet! This was the basis of my lunch today and is one of my go-to meals when I’m busy. Coles roasted chicken, microwave rice and packet leafy greens I also added a little feta cheese and some extra salad veggies from home. If you’re too busy to cook from scratch, no problem, just grab options like this!

25.01.2022 Hands up if youre hungry A good workout will do that to you The tricky part is how we deal with it. And it can be difficult to tell if were hungry, thirsty or bored sometimes. You may be the sort of person that finds it uncomfortable so eats as soon as you get hungry, or you may be too busy to notice and delay eating for hours, until you realise youre ravenous and then eat anything and everything in sight. Listening to our bodys hunger cues is important- it helps moderate the volume and types of food we eat. So somewhere in the middle is ideal. 25.01.2022 Quick tip to make meal prep quick and easy. Sometimes I just cant face dragging all of the salad items out and chopping up small amounts, only to have to do it again the next day. Sounds crazy right? In reality it only takes about 5 minutes, but I like to make things as quick and easy as possible so I wont be deterred and decide to eat something else (less healthy). So Ive been cutting up a couple of days worth at a time and putting portions in zip lock bags to keep them fresh. So simple and makes life a whole lot easier!



24.01.2022 Very true! Over here in Perth were feeling very lucky at the moment- it finally pays to be an isolated city! But Ive noticed were still feeling the effects anyway. What can we do to look after ourselves and each other? Keep up hygiene practices, eat plenty of nutritious fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water, supplement where needed, keep physically active and take time out to relax and de-stress.

24.01.2022 Time is precious and having time is so important to me. Time to think and slow down, time to help others, time to enjoy moments with family and friends, and time to enjoy and take care of myself. I finally have the ability to create my own schedule and do the things that give me happiness, rather than time flying by as I go through the daily grind of working for someone else. Lets look at a healthy version. ~Cut chicken into small pieces ~ coat in breadcrumbs ~place on baking tray and spray lightly with olive oil ~bake for 10 minutes ... If you like a little more flavour, add some spices to the breadcrumbs. Personally I like just some black pepper. See more

13.01.2022 Getting some vitamin D while talking all things nutrition

13.01.2022 Which is better? Potato or sweet potato? Normal white potato gets a bad name usually, but theyre actually not that different nutritionally. Levels of macros (carbohydrates, fats and protein) are very similar in both. Sweet potatoes have slightly higher amounts of fibre, and vitamins A, B6, C and calcium. Theyre also lower GI so dont cause as much of a blood sugar spike. However white potatoes win in the potassium arena. Just goes to show variety is best. If youre choosing white potatoes, just make youre cooking them in a healthy manner - deep fried is not the best choice (try baked or boiled).
