25.01.2022 Hi beautiful people! I hope you have been enjoying the awakening of springtime! Its my favourite time of year, there is a new energy in the air and I love taking the time to breathe it in and allow it to reignite the joy and aliveness within! Although I know for those of us in Melbourne we are still experiencing limitations with our movements and the many challenges that go with this lockdown. Please dont allow it to lockdown your heart! ... Remember to respond to all things from a place of loving kindness and compassion for yourself and others. Responding from fear or frustration will restrict the capacity for emerging from this situation with grace and gratitude for the things weve learned. I invite you to join me this week on Thursday evening as we gather to welcome the changes of the season and aknowledge the emotional ride we are still on. Together, not separately. Were all in our own boat, but we are all caught up in the same storm. 21.01.2022 Dining out first time since coming out of lockdown in Melbourne feels really strange. The mask had to be taken off in public which I noticed felt great because I could breathe much better, but I also felt more exposed. I wear a mask all day at work, and now it could finally come off so I could share in a conversation and meal with my gorgeous sister.... Being sensitive as I am, I am noticing how confusing this all is. Feeling unsure whether I’m doing the right thing at the right time to keep myself everyone around me safe. But I feel what we need now is to talk. To come together. To communicate and hold space for each other and acknowledge the struggles of this year. Lean into each other. It made me realise what I am so grateful for. Grateful for this time with my sister after so long. Grateful for my beautiful kids who have kept me very busy and also feeling very loved and cherished. Grateful to have a job that I love and clients who are wonderful. Grateful that we are coming out of this second wave and that our sacrifices have paid off. Grateful to the friends who were available to support me through this emotional rollercoaster over the past few months. For the community of meditators at ACMM for everything! We invite calm and serenity into our experience and hold space as we notice our our bodies and minds begin to ease into relaxation and acceptance.... So far the feedback has been that these groups are helping people to feel relaxed and connected. People are noticing how important it is to commit time to self care each day in whatever small way. 18.01.2022 Some days... its like this! Rest is not selfish. This lockdown has been exhausting on so many levels. ... I have heard terms like parental burnout lockdown fatigue and so many others that I can relate to. These symptoms can present as exhaustion detachment inefficiency Im sure we could add a few more to the list that are challenges unique to this current situation. My response to this is REST. Resisting doesnt work. Blaming doesnt work. Wishing it were different doesnt work. Some days I can manage much more, other days its just plain HARD! On these days, when I listen to what I need, and I honour that need to REST, I start to feel OK. Then eventually I feel BETTER. Try it. Reach out if you need help. How can I remain open to the lessons these challenges are teaching me? Who am I? The answer to most of not all of these, is Presence. To Be present to what is. Right here and now is where you are and it is where you are needed, and it is where you are meant to be. Whomever is present, wherever you are located, whatever your current challenges. This is where you are going to learn what you need to learn for your spiritual development. The real challenge is, can you remain open to these lessons? To not resist and find fault with it. Blame or shame it. The most important relationship is the one with yourself and the present moment. Be with it. Be fully in it. 07.01.2022 I experience this as a feeling of effortlessness in presence. As if Ive suddenly dropped into awareness and seeing the situation as if I am having an outer body experience. When really it is an all encompassing experience. It might appear as though I have completely disengaged and checked out and am not listening. In fact, I am listening. ... 01.01.2022 Wasn’t expecting to be plunging into 4 degree water twice wth my sister after sitting in a sauna at 70 degrees for 10 mins at a time! 10 mins in the sauna, 30 seconds to 1 minute in the cold. This was the most amazing experience! Don’t overthink it, you’re capable of so much more than you think. ... Feel the fear and do it anyway. I can highly recommend this experience. Would you do it?
