17.01.2022 This little furniture rescue was a $10 wicker unit from the tip shop. It was old and dry but sturdy and a cool little shape. I gave it a dust and vacuum, then sprayed with this Monocel oil from Bunnings. After letting that soak in I trimmed the little tatty bits off and sprayed another coat of oil. Once dry and with a few little plants, some bits and bobs, it looks nice enough to have another life! These little Boho shelves and units are really popular at the moment, so keep an eye out for them! . . . #makedoandmend #savewhatyoucan #putsecondhandfirst

16.01.2022 I used @mezzieandfrank chalk effects paint to turn this old brown corner stand into something more loveable. The first coat of paint was a beautiful blue pastel @fremantle then I painted the clear crackle medium over the top and let that dry for around two hours. Next I put White chalk paint over the top, ( this was Pavlova) and let the crackle magic begin. The blue shows through the cracks leaving a beautiful effect! Old, chippy, boho cool plant and candle stand to brighten the corners. This is so easy to do! 16.01.2022 Today’s project is fixing this beautiful old Mid Century Kalmar coffee table I found broken on the side of the road. I’m using Chair Doctor glue (it’s fabulous stuff) and MickeyRourke is providing moral support. Once glued it will need a little bit of love to bring the lovely finish back. 10.01.2022 Scissors. I love them. I collect them. These are my favourites, old & beautifully made, a pleasure to use. The noise beautiful scissors make when cutting fabric is the best meditation I have ever found. My mum bought me the fabric scissors and pinking shears, I keep them hidden so no one ever uses them on paper. Perish the thought! I’ve even heard of women padlocking their precious fabric scissors closed...and I do not blame them one bit!

08.01.2022 So... I don't usually love replica furniture, but when I saw this on hard rubbish, broken and painted I knew even though it wasn't a Eames original, I could still save it! After sanding off all of the white paint (not fun)very gently because it's ply, ( excellent quality ply I might add) I stained it to look teak, repaired it, and put it back together. ( Oh, and I cannot tell how comfortable it is. It cups your butt perfectly! ) Now if you had $2500 - 3000 to buy an original Eames LCW, well that would be way better, but if you don't, here's an option! I actually love this piece because I saved it from the crusher truck. It looks very cool (and btw even the repros go for around $400 bux.) 04.01.2022 This little rescue was done last year- but since then I’ve been watching YouTube tutorials and practicing upholstery so now I have more tricks up my sleeve I’m going to re do it, and get the corners smoother. All furniture flipping is, is practice and learning new skills. It doesn’t have to be perfect. I find you learn a little something on almost every piece! I love this little kitchen step and use it almost every day to reach my collections of retro kitchen wares. So happy I could give her another life! 02.01.2022 So freaking excited because this afternoon I was finally allowed to leave my suburb (lockdown due to stupid Covid)...and collect these handmade plant stands. I bought them from a maker ages ago and he agreed to hold them until I was allowed to get them... well they were worth the wait. I’m not sure the photos do them justice - this guy is a true artist who has created something really beautiful from a junk pile. 02.01.2022 I found a coffee table with no legs on the hard rubbish, added some legs from a little stool, also found on hard rubbish, I gave it a light sand and a lick of homemade Danish oil... and saved this little MCM two tier corner table. Half of the furniture in my house is Furniture Frankenstein! I save legs and handles etc for other projects all the time. It's all about seeing potential- what can you make use of? Can it be fixed? Can it be used another way? After Melbourne restrictions are lifted I’ll start doing workshops again showing people tips and tricks for furniture flipping.
