09.04.2022 Learning to read can be very challenging when a child starts school. There is so much already going on in their mind that everything becomes so overwhelming. We aim to make that part of their learning easier by giving them all the skills before they get to school. This makes a big impact on your child and the outcomes you will witness later in school. Phonemic awareness is the first step in learning how to read. It is the understanding that words are made up of individual sounds, called phonemes. Phonemic awareness enables readers to hear the individual points of sound in words, identify them, and use them both in talking, and later in their writing.
