25.01.2022 We so badly wanted to keep this beautiful old book stand when we moved our family out of Roaring Tom's apartment, but it just looked so good in that stone kitchen that we let it stay behind... @bykulonmonika

25.01.2022 If only our vintage finds could tell their stories...but maybe that’s why we love them so much. A bit of patina and mystery... @madeleinetbecker

23.01.2022 The Nutsometimes we forget it is there and then look up and it takes our breath away all over again. @alidavisphotography

21.01.2022 Locals tell of being allowed into the old pub as small children and being placed up on these windowsills with a raspberry lemonade...it felt so high and those windows so deep grahamnking (Roaring Tom's apartment)

14.01.2022 So beautiful how @jeff.power.art has captured the colours of the ocean as a storm is brewing. Our latest artwork for the Ship Inn Stanley shares the story of Roaring Tom Holyman and his seafaring days. @jeff.power.art

13.01.2022 Layers upon layers, linens, velvet, stone, glass...textures and stories. @bykulonmonika

13.01.2022 The melting pot of humanity that congregated within the walls of the inn has instilled upon it a richly poignant history. Unearth the many triumphs and tribulations hidden within the century old walls, her history intertwined with tales of merchant sailors, local shipwrecks, colonial English gentry, and hard-fought agricultural battles. This is a Tasmanian story telling inn and each of our luxurious suites have a compelling tale to tell. @marniehawson

12.01.2022 ROARING TOM'S luxury apartment...a new addition

12.01.2022 Our very own sea captain, watching over the comings and goings at the Ship Inn Stanley @alidavisphotography

11.01.2022 Ship Inn Stanley, established in 1849, by Michael Lyons, grandfather to our only Tasmanian born Prime Minister, Joseph Lyons. Joseph was born in the little cottage next door. bykulonmonika

10.01.2022 NOW TAKING BOOKINGS...Roaring Tom's luxury apartment at Ship Inn Stanley. @bykulonmonika enjoying a quiet moment by the wood fire in Roaring Tom's apartment. Can you picture yourself there? @bykulonmonika

08.01.2022 Locals still like to go for picnics at Rocky Capejust half an hour up the coast

07.01.2022 Roaring Tom's apartment has quite the kitchen, if you fancy cooking up a feast, or just enjoying a platter and some bubbles. In this gorgeous space these rough stone walls once housed the barrels for the inn. @alidavisphotography

07.01.2022 GREEN HILLS Their green flanks and swells are not flesh in any sense matching ours, ... we tell ourselves. Nor their green breast nor their green shoulder nor the language of their rolling over ...Kay Ryan @alidavisphotography

07.01.2022 Vintage artworks and the stylish comforts of a home away from home Marnie Hawson (Moo-Nut-Re-Ker suite)

05.01.2022 There’s a strong sense of place here, by the sea on the rugged North West Coast. We sometimes watch whales and dolphins, and always the boats come in and out. We collect sea glass and little crockery treasures on the sand and watch the seabirds and the murmurs of hundreds of little birds flying across the water and around the Nut each evening and morning bykulonmonika

05.01.2022 One of our favourite views...the shimmering silver ocean and that brave little copse of trees...larks hang out here and if you look up up and up you might be lucky to spot one if you follow the sound of their song. @adepuit

05.01.2022 Each room at Ship Inn is different and each is as fabulous as the other. Brent Wallace of Mr Wallace Travel. @wheresbrentbeen

05.01.2022 We were lucky to find this little gem in a vintage shop along the coast. (They keep things aside for us that they think we will like, and we usually do!). An original oil painting of an iconic early 1900s image of a bullock team on Tatlows beach. This piece will hang in Roaring Tom’s apartment in the original bar of the Ship Inn... (Artist is J. Gale if anyone can share any information on them?)

05.01.2022 Mustard is the new black. @bykulonmonika

04.01.2022 Another little piece of the past, this wallpaper fragment from the foyer area of the Ship Inn Stanley. The colours still so fresh over a century after they first graced the walls.

04.01.2022 Explore the Nut trail in style. @khunyingnat

04.01.2022 Stanley, sleepy little fishing village @alidavisphotography

03.01.2022 Beautiful blue sky day captured at Ship Inn Stanley @ausel

03.01.2022 We are a story-telling inn and our Wildwave suite tells the story of the 1923 shipwreck of the Wildwave, the lonely remains of this stately barque are buried in the sand in front of the Ship Inn Stanley. .. . Howling easterlies prevailed, forcing the crew to seek shelter near Circular Head with the intent to wait out the storm. Alas, mooring in the seething port of Stanley offered little comfort and there was no saving her. The Wild Wave was dragged at anchor onto the shore where she foundered

03.01.2022 Location. Location. Location. @alidavisphotography

02.01.2022 The weekend of the 7th 8th 9th January has opened up for anyone wanting to book!

02.01.2022 The past never seems very far away in Stanley

02.01.2022 Car race outside Ship Inn Stanley circa 1950s (trading as Bayview Hotel at the time). Does anyone know who these rather dapper chaps might be?
