Completed in 1864, originally the Presbyterian Church, it was also used for a time as a school, and again a church until the 1950's. he building gradually fell into disrepair and was a ruin by the late 1980s. A picture perfect Sydney day for the final flight of the grand old dame of the QANTAS fleet, on her way to the Mojave Desert to join hundreds of other planes in retirement. Thank you grand lady. These were all taken from my balcony as she did her fly around Sydney. She flew down Parramatta River, one kilometre away, and finished by flying directly over us! 10.01.2022 The new swan family were out for a swim this morning. Out of the 5 eggs, 3 have hatched. The remaining 2 were not viable, which I suspected the other day, and have been removed from the nest. Mum and Dad keep them close and are always keeping a watchful eye on them.

09.01.2022 The world is in color, you have to work at black and white. Andrew Maclean When I first started taking photos, colour prints were relatively new (yes, I'm that old). I still have boxes of my dad's colour slides - everything else was black and white prints. I have a wall of old black and white family photos. What I love about them, is they allow you to focus on detail, you're not distracted by colour.... I decided this month I'd set myself a challenge - a month of mono. 07.01.2022 I wasn't expecting to be able to get out and get any photographs over the last few days, with rain forecast pretty much every day. With the sun shining yesterday morning, I snuck over to the water bird refuge for some shots for my TAFE photo essay. Happy to find this Striated Heron, whom I never seen in the mangroves before - not to say they haven't been there, they've probably just been hiding from me! After stalking him for around 20 minutes, and quite a few shots later, I found this one today! Happy days!
