The Shire of Nannup is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our Operational Services Team. The primary function of the role is to oversee and supervise works and services, maintenance and upgrade of roads and other infrastructure assets such as parks, gardens and other amenities, buildings, bridges and project manageme...nt. To be considered for this position you will have experience in a similar role working in a Local Government or similar environment with a minimum of a C Class License. This position is to be a contract role with conditions to be negotiated with a total remuneration package up to $100,000. 19.01.2022 Periodic Road Closure East Nannup Road Posted on: Friday, 20th November 2020 7:00am to 5:00pm Notice of Periodic Road closure East Nannup Road Notice is hereby given under the Local Government Act 1995 - 3.50 that the Shire of Nannup is to allow periodic closure of East Nannup Road 6 kilometres east of Vasse Highway to through traffic on the Friday 20th November 2020. The road will be closed periodically throughout the day for duration of works The closure is required for... the Shire of Nannup to carry out necessary road repair works The closure will be 6 kilometres east of Vasse Highway. There will be periodic delays while work is carried out. Alternate access to East Nannup Road will be via Gold Gully Road. 17.01.2022 From 7am on Friday 6 November Nannup will host the Tour of Margaret River with road cyclists groups travelling south of Nannup towards Gull Gully Road looping around and returning to Nannup from around 11am. Please note this is a controlled event, please watch out for the increase numbers of cyclists on our roads. Traffic management and traffic wardens will be doing their best to keep the community safe. Please obey the road rules, do not overtake on double lines and only overtake when it is safe. The cyclists will be in Manjimup on Saturday and return to Nannup on Sunday when Ballingup Nannup Road will be temporarily closed between 6am and 10am.

11.01.2022 Shire of Nannup Success in SWDC RED's Round 3 The Shire of Nannup can now progress Stage 2 of the Nannup Tank 7 & 8 Mountain Bike Park project as a result of the funding success. On Friday 30 October the Minster for Regional Development, Hon Alannah MacTiernan announce the recipients of the recent Regional Economic Development Grants on behalf of the South West Development Commission. A total of 15 recipients from the South West were allocated funds to inject in projects tha...t aim to stimulate the local economy by sharing in the funding pool that equates to just under $1.2 million. 10.01.2022 The Shire of Nannup is offering information workshops for the community to better understand how to support people living with dementia. This is a Department of Communities funded project. Nearly 1 in 10 people over 65 have dementia and on average, the signs and symptoms of dementia are noticed by families three years before a firm diagnosis is made (https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/dementia-statistics). Dementia-friendly communities encourage organisations, businesses, commun...ity groups and individuals to make practical changes that will have a positive impact on the lives of people living with dementia. In a dementia-friendly community awareness and understanding of dementia is strong where individuals effected are active participants in their own lives. Health staff are educated about dementia and treat people living with dementia with respect and empathy while businesses provide accessible services. Employers provide support for people living with the disabilities of dementia and the physical environment enables people with dementia to get out and about safely. Social groups and organisations are welcoming and inclusive of members with dementia. 07.01.2022 SITE IS CLOSED DUE TO WORKSITE AND CONSTRUCTION ZONE. The construction of the Nannup Tank 7 & 8 Mountain Bike Park is underway. Be aware that this is a a worksite and construction zone whilst the MTB trails are being established. There is also active harvesting occurring in the area with large machinery moving from Tank 8 over to Tank 7 making it unsafe to enter. Please observe the warning signs until further notice.
