25.01.2022 Love this story! https://www.theleader.com.au//plastic-purpose-for-prosth/

25.01.2022 For anybody still requiring an explanation: https://www.facebook.com/642256333/posts/10155900136436334/

24.01.2022 "At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living... in a trailer. At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare. At age 28, Wayne Coyne (from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didnt get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didnt release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didnt get his first movie role until he was 46. Morgan Freeman landed his first MAJOR movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didnt begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didnt become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You arent a failure because you havent found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, its okay if you dont even know what your dream is yet. Even if youre flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where youll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself youre too old to make it. Never tell yourself you missed your chance. Never tell yourself that you arent good enough. You can do it. Whatever it is." See more

22.01.2022 Words of wisdom from a four year old on New Year’s resolutions.

21.01.2022 I love this analogy! You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? ... "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer. You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. *Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.* Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. Its easy to fake it, until you get rattled. *So we have to ask ourselves... whats in my cup?"* When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions? Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. Today lets work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness and love for others.

16.01.2022 Every day almost 300 Australians are diagnosed with diabetes. But for many the diagnosis is being made too late, putting them at risk of life threatening or serious health issues. This National Diabetes Week (8 14 July) we are raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of diabetes to increase earlier detection and promote action. Please like our Diabetes Support Australia Facebook page for all sorts of useful diabetes related information, tidbits, news items, etc.... https://diabetesnsw.com.au/national-diabetes-week-2018

09.01.2022 It is far more creative to work with the idea of mindfulness rather than with the idea of will. Too often people try to change their lives by using the will as ...a kind of hammer to beat their life into proper shape. The intellect identifies the goal of the program, and the will accordingly forces the life into that shape. This way of approaching the sacredness of ones own presence is externalist and violent. It brings you falsely outside yourself and you can spend years lost in the wildernesses of your own mechanical, spiritual programs. You can perish in a famine of your own making. If you work with a different rhythm, you will come easily and naturally home to yourself. Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more importantly, it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey. 06.01.2022 If you have diabetes and are thinking of having a baby at any time in the future, now is the time to talk to your doctor or Diabetes Educator about it! Good control of glucose levels and high dose of folic acid, along with pregnancy multivitamins, will reduce your risk of foetal problems and complications.

02.01.2022 Heres an inspirational story!

01.01.2022 "Hey, Pooh," said Piglet. "Hey, Piglet," said Pooh. "How are you doing?" asked Piglet.... Pooh thought for a moment. "Fine," he said. "Im fine." Piglet appraised his friend. "Okay," he said. "And now: how are you really doing?" "I told you," said Pooh, surprised. "Im fine." Piglet sat down next to Pooh, and the two of them sat in a comfortable silence for a time. "The thing is," said Piglet. "Ive learnt something over the years. And what Ive learnt is, that the people who say that theyre fine...are, ironically, the people who are least likely to actually be fine. They might say the word fine, but what they actually mean to say is scared, or struggling, or really really in need of a hug right now. "So we need to listen. Really listen. Not to what people say, when we ask them how they are. But to what they actually mean. "You might be absolutely fine, Pooh. But Im guessing, based on the fact that you didnt tell me that youre great! or brilliant! or unbelievably happy right now! ... that youre quite possibly not fine at all. And thats okay. I just need you to know that Im here. If you want to talk about how youre feeling, then Im here. But if you just want to sit, and do so knowing that Im here, and that youre not facing this on your own...well, thats absolutely okay too." Pooh felt a lump in his throat, and wanted to say something; everything, but found that he couldnt, so he just sat there, and Piglet sat there with him, and put a gentle hand over his, and Pooh knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that he was not alone. #worldmentalhealthday *************************** www.instagram.com/iknowineedtostoptalkingblog www.twitter.com/IKINTST I WROTE A BOOK!!
