21.01.2022 Curtin University have featured me in a video as part of their alumni series. In this video I talk about how to tap into the hidden job market, hope you find it helpful!

21.01.2022 We laughed and cried with you Mel @22folds. There is so much courage in your personal story - you are an inspiration, we love you, we stand with you. @behindthebrandsaus @metteisbaking #behindthebrands #perth #business #inspiration #womeninbusiness #reallife #courage

21.01.2022 Well done Team Fiti50! 200km in tough weather conditions Our 23 riders raised over $60k which contributed to $4.1M total for the event. We rode in honour of Kathy Bunce, a beautiful and giving lady who was taken too soon by cancer Incredibly humbling to be riding alongside survivors of cancer ... Who would like to join our team to ride next year? #theridepr #ridetoconquercancer #ridetoconquercancer2018 #bewell #cycling #perth @ Mccallum Park

21.01.2022 It was great to go back to university and contribute as a Clinician to the fantastic Curtin Ignition program last week. This year they had 71 participants and a stellar lineup of leaders sharing their knowledge and rolling up their sleeves to help. Well done to Danelle Cross and the team at @curtinuniversity for all your hard work to make it a success again.... Wonderful to share a room with Sherryn McBride, Stephen Carroll and Tara Roy for the Clinician sessions. I’m excited to see the future growth of the businesses I found out about including Mark Armstrong, Paula Taylor, Ashleigh Brand, Jonathan Szeto and Elizabeth Knight. Special thanks to Vicki Hodgson GAICD and Erica Urquiaga #perth #curtinuniversity #ignition #learning #growthstrategy #businessandmanagement

20.01.2022 It was exciting to be part of Churchill’s new branding launch at G&T on the Quay last night, I love the new look and a great event at The Ritz to kick off the festive season! Well done to Lincoln Elliot and Katelyn Prendiville and all the team who worked hard to bring to life Churchill’s purpose, which is to help build a more vibrant and prosperous WA. It’s been a pleasure assisting Churchill Consulting to recruit talented people in 2020. One of the most rewarding parts o...f my job is seeing new hires settle in and thrive at their new organisation, it’s been a joy to see that in action at Churchill. The team is super smart and they are nice people too, a winning combination and a delight to source talent for. #perth #managementconsulting #churchill #careers #technology #consulting #strategy

18.01.2022 Excellent article on working in the Gig Economy by Harvard Business Review. Common strategies of gig workers mentioned in this article are that they cultivate four types of connectionsto place, routines, purpose, and people. Mine are: Place(s) - Different spaces in my home. Co-working space in the city, book meeting rooms in Subiaco. Gym. Routines - Start work early in the morning with fresh mind. Work in time chunks. Go to gym, take walk or bike ride for a break. Rest whe...n tired. Schedule meetings for afternoons when possible. Purpose - Autonomy, mastery, health, loved ones, wise use of time. People - Work with good clients, find great talent, collaborate with switched on people, network with high calibre folks, support others and ask for help when needed. This resonated: "Even the most successful, well-established people we interviewed still worry about money and reputation and sometimes feel that their identity is at stake." This is my 8th year consulting and I'm mostly used to the workload peaks and troughs, although I still worry at times however I know people in corporate jobs worry too! Thanks to Pauline Tarrant for sharing this article on Facebook this morning. Hope you enjoy the read, let me know your four things! https://hbr.org/2018/03/thriving-in-the-gig-economy

18.01.2022 Recently I started recruiting for a management consulting company who uses client case studies as part of their selection process. For them, it has proven to be an effective way of gathering information on a candidate to assess suitability. To better understand the use of case studies in the recruitment process, my assistant Laura and I did research into the topic, this blog post is to share that information with you. 14.01.2022 Last week I was fortunate to be a delegate at the Curtin Ignition program, which is like a mini MBA for innovators. I loved being back at university! Short courses have become more popular and I can see why especially when its such a high quality course like Ignition is. Im super appreciative to the many people who made the event such a success, in particular:... - A huge thank you to the City of Subiaco who awarded me a scholarship to attend. - Lacey Filipich and Greg Riebe who spoke highly of the program and suggested I should apply you were right! - Mentoring from Charlie Gunningham and Vicky Hodgson. - The Curtin team who put together the event: Danelle Cross, Subra Ananthram, Nicole Gaitan and Brittney ONeill - Clinicians Tom Kooy and Ilana Borsje who dedicated 1:1 time and gave me great advice. - Pitch panellists Robert Pierce, Rohan McDougall and Craig Ridley who listened attentively to my pitch and asked insightful questions. - The brilliant speakers who shared their knowledge with us! Here's my blog post with pictures of the event: https://lnkd.in/fDbWcY6 #curtinignition #learning #business #Perth @ Curtin University

14.01.2022 Newsletter - Hi, how are you? So much has changed in the last month. The velocity of change has been phenomenal. A close friend, who is a teacher at a private school, remarked that so much happens in a day, the information they receive in the morning has already changed by the afternoon. We arent just dealing with a startlingly high level of uncertainty; we are in a fight to save our own lives and the lives of others.... The virus is attacking our biology, economy, society, ideologies and even challenging us philosophically. As an eternal optimist and someone who lives partly in the future (I dont hang on too tight to the past), I see many benefits ahead when we emerge from the pandemic. And the majority of us will get through this. 10.01.2022 Job seeking has changed radically over the last decade - statistically job seekers have less than a one percent chance of securing their next role though an advertisement. As recruitment methods change, so have professionals career paths, with the average changing jobs ten to fifteen times during their career (a number that is expected to continue to rise). A job change is among lifes most stressful events. [ 634 more words ] http://elite-human-capital.com//the-exec-circle-a-masterm/

06.01.2022 Here is yesterday's webinar on "Australia's Shrinking Job Market, Corona Proof Careers and The Future of Work". Ideas explored during the webinar include: - Collective uncertainty, grief and the death of who we thought we would be. - How employers and employees are adapting to constantly changing conditions. - Tasks vs job descriptions. - Portfolio careers.... - Which industries might thrive, which industries to avoid? - We are currently in a black hole (to use a science fiction analogy) and will emerge 10 years ahead of where we were. What you can do to maximise the upside and come out stronger. Morris Miselowski is a Global Business Futurist, Strategist, Presenter and Media Broadcaster.
