19.01.2022 GREAT sorts do better than the bin! Your landfill bin is the last place for your waste, and with a bit of waste sorting at home, it could be almost empty each week! There are GREAT Sorts out there who put 60 per cent less into their landfill bin.

13.01.2022 A BIG thank you to the Men's Shed members, Senior Citizens, Raema and Lindsay for volunteering at the Repair Cafe! Clothes were mended, the PCYC's fan has been fixed in time for summer, and the Men's Shed repaired some wooden planter boxes. A broken plate that once would have been destined for landfill has been glued back together, and there was a lot of chitchat about what can be achieved with those bits and bobs that don't need to be discarded just because you can't repair them yourself. The Senior Citizens Centre, Men's Shed, Shire of Collie and other community groups are hoping to hold another Repair Cafe in the New Year.

13.01.2022 The Shire of Collie wishes to advise that work will commence on Monday 21st September to seal the remaining portions of Collie River Scenic Drive ( Flora Rd ). Road closures will be in place while works are in progress, and we ask that you slow down and observe any traffic signs in place.

11.01.2022 Yesterday marked (former!) CEO David Blurton's final day at Shire of Collie. In his tenure Dave has helped Collie grow into a fresh, vibrant town with a bright future. For staff, he has fostered a caring, fun environment that makes you enjoy coming to work. Having a boss that you can talk to and laugh with is a rare and wonderful thing, and we have been lucky to have had that for the past 7 years. Having a boss that you can play 'villain theme songs' for upon entry to the bu...ilding is even better, and we had that too. Wishing you and your family all the best on your next adventure. Good riddance Bye Dave!

09.01.2022 National Recycling Week has been a great opportunity not only to educate, but also to connect with our community. From the families at Collie Public Library's Story Time to the legends who take classes every week at Roche Park Recreation Centre , to the amazing volunteers at the Men's Shed and Senior Citizens, we have enjoyed sharing the importance and message of National Recycling Week with you all. We reckon you're all GREAT sorts! https://fb.watch/1JFZpWnsCQ/

07.01.2022 There are so many GREAT ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. G stands for Gifting! Gift your unwanted items to friends, family or charity shops, swap them or sell them. Remember: If you wouldn't gift it to a friend, don't gift it to a charity.

06.01.2022 Exciting times ahead.

04.01.2022 Works have commenced on the Throssell St Fascade upgrade and are expected to be completed by early May 2021. This is a State Government funded initiative following on from the recent success of the upgrade to the Golden Eagle Restaurant. The upgrade extends from the Colliefields Hotel through to the old Spry Butchers building, and also includes the Henderson Hardware Building. The works are being managed by H&H Architects with construction by Challis Builders and JILA Riley... builders. Traffic management is being carried out by Shire staff as approved by Main Roads to manage pedestrian and traffic flows during the project. Due to the demolition works currently occurring at the Steere St intersection and the need for temporary fencing, this intersection will be restricted to local traffic only and only left turn movements will be permitted. Residents should avoid this intersection if possible.
