16.01.2022 KEEP OFF OUR FOOTPATHS VEHICLES OBSTRUCTING THE SAFE USE OF FOOTPATHS We are getting a large number of concerns regarding vehicles obstructing footpaths which include parking fully or partially on the footpath, leaving vehicles parked on crossovers, tow bars protruding onto crossovers and footpaths, vehicles traversing over the pavement to park adjacent to the footpath. Footpaths are not constructed for the weight of vehicles and substantial damage could occur if vehicles... continue to mount kerbs and traverse over the pavement area therefore reducing the lifespan of the pavement. Vehicles driving over and on footpaths cause cracking and subsiding which pose a significant tripping hazard for pedestrians. Ranger Services will be issuing fines to vehicle owners and/or drivers on all occasions. There will be a ZERO tolerance approach to this significant risk on the most vulnerable members of our community.
