25.01.2022 *CHASMOPTERA* Have you seen Chasmoptera hutti in your garden or bush? Want to confirm the validity of the three known species (Chasmoptera hutti, C. superba and C. mathewsi) and also determine if any new species exist (almost certainly based on museum collections). One of these new species' comes from Lake Grace. They are approximately 2-5cm in length (including wings) with two "dragonfly-like" wings and two elongated, oddly shaped wings. They fly in a fluttery movement for ...short distances, resting on low vegetation while "flicking" their longer, odd tail wings. The Lake Grace species in particular has pretty large "spoon-wings" so may be a bit easier to spot than others! Attached are pictures for reference of a known species, as they all look very similar. The aim is to form some groundwork for state conservation approval, protecting more of our precious flora and fauna.

19.01.2022 *STREET SWEEPING* The street sweeper will be in Lake Grace on Monday 7th, Newdegate Thursday 10 December. Lake King and Varley over the weekend of Saturday 12 December 2020. Could you please be aware of the dates and park vehicles in driveways or on verges so the sweeper has access to all roads. Thank you for your consideration.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for various tasks and duties associated with the maintenance and renewal of the Shire road network. You will be required to operate semi side tippers for the carting of gravel and various materials. In addition, you will have the ability to operate semi water carts and other plant and equipment associated with road construction, perform other duties as directed by the Manger Infrastructure Services /Infrastructure Supervisor. The successful candidate must be motivated, reliable, team and safety focused. You must hold a current unrestricted HC Licence with a valid WA White Card. You will have previous industry experience operating semi side tippers and associated plant and equipment.
