16.01.2022 **NAIDOC WEEK OPENING CEREMONY CHANGE OF VENUE** The Narrogin Community will celebrate NAIDOC Week with an Opening Ceremony at the Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre at 10am on Tuesday 10 November 2020. The program will commence with a Welcome to Country by Local Elder Basil Kickett followed a performance of the very popular Gina Williams song ‘Wanjoo’ by music and drama students from Narrogin Senior High School, and the presentation of the Narrogin NAIDOC Awards. Morning Tea will be catered for, and served by the hospitality students of the Narrogin Senior High School Trade Academy. 04.01.2022 *** Highbury Tennis Club Court Resurface Complete! *** A great new project for the Highbury Community led by the proactive team at the Highbury Tennis Club 6 courts all resurfaced. Funding partners were HTC, Shire of Narrogin and CBH Grassroots Fund. Plus, lots of hard work and busy bees from Highbury Tennis Club members. Well done HTC on a fabulous facility just in time for tennis season!

03.01.2022 Yesterday, the Highbury Bushfire Brigades had the Shire firefighting units out with Captain Cameron Hayes, from Fire & Rescue, familiarising all the volunteers with the equipment, ahead of the summer season.

02.01.2022 REGIONAL VOLUNTEER COACHES & OFFICIALS GET UP TO $1K FOR TRAINING EXPENSES Applications are now open for volunteer coaches and officials in regional Western Australian to receive up to $1,000 to support skill development and accreditation. The funding is to assist volunteer coaches and officials in regional WA with out-of-pocket travel and accommodation costs to participate in sport-specific courses to obtain high-level accreditations. The subsidy can be for travel ...undertaken between September 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021. The subsidy is available under the Coach and Official Education Subsidy administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. While this subsidy is being run as a pilot program, the intention is for it to be incorporated into an expanded travel scheme alongside the existing Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme.
