15.01.2022 Just a quick appreciation post to say thank you to all of our wonderful and loyal Shire Pokermania players. Its been a crazy year, with hardly any poker since Covid lockdown in March, but with things finally easing and us being able to resume, we started at Engadine RSL on Wed and Thursday, and we have a game on Sunday as well. So far in the Wed and Thursday games we had OVER $3700 on offer in the two games. ... Its been great to see so many of you back with us, and we look forward to seeing more and more of you , as more venues open up for Shire Pokermania.

13.01.2022 Jason Cottle took down our Sunday Afternoon game , beating James Down head up with Gavin Lowder in 3rd spot. Jason also won the $300 bounty so he’s gone home with some nice Xmas holiday spending money . Jason is one of our original players , who has played with us at engadine RSL since we started there 11 years ago, so it was great to see him pick up a bounty win. 11.01.2022 To our wonderful Shire Pokermania players. Throughout this pandemic called COVID 19, we have had to postpone poker, and then as restrictions slowly eased, we ran poker events with sanitation and followed public health procedures. Unfortunately, our host venues have received advice from their peak industry organisations, Clubs NSW and AHA NSW, that all poker events should cease at this time.... Effective from Saturday 22nd August, all Shire Pokermania events will be on hold until further notice. We shall remain in contact with you with updates as they come to hand. We are currently working with both peak industry groups as well as other major poker providers to get a clear guideline of running poker events in NSW and hope to have a framework for running live poker events that satisfies the public health order. Those of you who have qualified for either the WED or THURS final table this week, that table WILL STILL GO AHEAD THIS WEEK. We will play 2 x tables of 4 and once we lose 2 off each table, we will then combine to the one table. Its not ideal, but its all we are allowed to do , legally.... 04.01.2022 We have received notification from NSW Police that poker events can be conducted again, so long as they meet the maximum group booking of 10 as outlined in the Public Health Order. What this means for players is that POKER IS BACK! There will be some differences to the format as Multi Table Tournaments can’t be operated under the current restrictions BUT let’s look at the positives.... We CAN play Shootouts, Single Table SNG’s, satellites and timed tournaments to name a few of the variants. Given the maximum group booking size of 10 any variant that ensures a single player only interacts with 9 other players is permissible. Please read our COVID safety plan here (https://www.pokernsw.com.au/plan) that has been approved by NSW Police if you would like to read through the details. As a result, our first event will be this WED at ENGADINE RSL, it will be a $30 shoot out event capped at 32 players. First in, best dressed. If, as expected, we surpass the 32 cap, we will open up other tables, and play a sit n go or a timed tournament, or even a satellite into our next $20,000 game. We have finally been given the green light to resume poker again, starting this WEDNESDAY 19/8 at Engadine RSL, and then the usual Thursday night and Sunday afternoon events will also commence . We are limited as to numbers, so the game will be capped to 42 players, but we will have reserves. Covid 19 safety procedures will be enforced to ensure the safety and well being of our players and staff. There will be a compulsory temperature check up on you...r arrival at the club. You will be required to sanitize your hands on entry to the club, and also PRIOR to taking your seat at the poker table.When we return from the break, you will again be required to sanitize your hands. Anyone who isn't well, please just stay at home, as we will be having plenty of games like usual so you wont miss out.
