22.01.2022 Happy International Day of Older Persons!
20.01.2022 We had a great night at part two of the Sandwich Generation. It is comforting to be reassured that as a community, we are incredibly well resourced by services and organisations enabling us to support our elderly parents. At the same time, we hope everybody found it valuable, informative and most of all enjoyable. We certainly did! Please remember to check the online tool kit. https://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au//Sandwich-Generatio

16.01.2022 Older people are essential in the fabric of our society. It’s time for us to acknowledge their importance and recognise they are entitled to the respect of their communities and especially their families. There is no excuse for elder abuse.
13.01.2022 Happy Grandparents Day! Grandparents Day celebrates the contributions grandparents make to their families and communities. The campaign recognises the diversity of grandparent relationships across age groups, cultural backgrounds, and geographical locations. Grandparents, grand-friends, kin, and those who take on the role of a grandparent in their family or community are celebrated for their contributions.
12.01.2022 This week, as part of Dementia Action Week, we invite you to create your own family digital photo book. This is a great way to provide a person living with dem...entia with an easy way to access positive memories. Clever technology can make life easier, more connected and less stressful for people living with dementia. Use our online tool to submit photos, stories and details that will be converted into a digital and printable album you can share with family and friends. There is also a tool you can use to create an album you can share with your loved one’s residential or home care providers, to support them in delivering person-centred care.
