13.01.2022 From John Boland...... John has been dealt a really bad hand in this. I invite you to read the facts below 1. His accountant did not pass on relevant information to John. He was informed of the situation whilst in recovery following a surgical procedure;... 2 By the time he was informed the court case had been done and dusted 3 I attempted to negotiate with Taxation to broker a deal to repay the tax debt 4 I contacted the liquidators to try and broker a solution but the horse had bolted 5 John’s wife conveniently failed to pay the tax as that was the arrangement 6 An attempt to secure a loan via a credit union was set and a guarantee was offered to secure the loan 7 Loans have tightened up following the Banking Royal Commission 8 The credit Union failed to return phone calls even though the loan interview appeared positive 9. John ran a very good business, however if the naysayers read up on Competitive Neutrality John would have been in a far better position. After you read up on it ask yourself the question why are Council facilities (pools with learn to swim) operating at a loss which is subsidised by you the rate payer 10 Your loss of $200 is tragic considering that John has lost everything. 11 I have been closely involved in swimming since the 1990’s from learn to swim to international level and like a Phoenix John will arise from the ashes 12 He will not be lost to swimming and will turn up at a pool either running learn to swim or coaching. I urge you to give him as much support as yo can. He’s in a dark place at the moment and needs support. Contact him in a friendly manner, take him for a coffee and say Are You OK 12 It’s not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog

04.01.2022 It made me laugh in this disaster of a moment. I would sincerely like to thank and hug all of you that had such nice words to say in my defense, and I must admit I never realized how much of an impact I apparently made with the help of our awesome team of staff over the years. I seriously couldn’t have done it without every single one of them. I am so blessed to have had such wonderful staff and friends to have helped me to save so many precious children over the years. A...lthough I have lost 21 years of my life with the complete blindsided hit, I am grateful to those that know and believe in me, that i would never have done this by choice. To those keyboard warriors out there, you obviously don’t know who I am, and in the scheme of things, your opinion reminds me of a beautiful quote from my favorite (sorry Dick) coach over the years, Mr Jack Stutsel OBE, which was ..... Get down with dogs, get up with fleas and I choose to not get in bed with you so I feel safe ....... and another favorite will always be from the awesome Dawn Fraser...... If they’re talking about me, they’re leaving some other poor bastard alone. I can take the hits because at the end of the day, I deserve it and accept it. My reality is mine and I am only, at the end of the day,responsible. Each and every person that paid, I am indebted to and if I can possibly repay those debts, I WILL. You only have my word, but I live and die by it. If I knew we were going to be given a sudden deadline, I would have given free classes. My heart goes out more to our gorgeous disabled students that we sponsored for life, that now miss out My heart and soul is extremely heavy and at breaking point, but I have a beautiful family with mum, 3 healthy children and a stunning granddaughter.
