20.01.2022 Day 5 Nursery Rhyme Week - "Rhyme a Day" Challenge. Today's rhyme is Miss Polly Had A Dolly. "Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick. So she called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick. The doctor came with his bag and his hat... And he knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat-tat. He looked at the dolly and he shook his head And he said Miss Polly, put her straight to bed! He wrote on a paper for some pills, pills, pills I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill. Get the children to do the matching actions. See more

17.01.2022 Getting into the rhythm of NAIDOC Week - Clapping sticks are a traditional Aboriginal instrument, used for percussion. Clapping sticks are used to establish rhythm. In this video from Shirley we can see the children learning to tap to maintain the rhythm.

15.01.2022 More NAIDOC Week experiences, from Renee... Renee's children made hand prints that reflected the Aborginal flag. Renee asked the children to tell her a story about themselves. They talked about the importance of sharing stories so that they can be shared on and on. They talked about how Aboriginal people's stories were passed on down through generations, and were told orally, but were never written down. These stories were the oral textbooks of their accumulated knowledge, spirituality, and wisdom, from when time began.

12.01.2022 Family day care is a great choice - "FDC was our first choice for Summer as we liked the small family environment and felt that she could be nurtured. It was at FDC where they picked up she had speech difficulties so we took her to speech therapy and attended Noah’s Ark. We felt early intervention was crucial so she could get the help she needed prior to starting school. This followed through to give her the support she needed at school and it was then I decided to become an... Educator after feeling that I wanted to make a difference in other children’s lives too. Summer went on to attend a High School where she knew no one and had to adapt to a different way of learning. Then 2020 happened and this year was a massive challenge for Summer as she endured many things that were not routine and very unexpected. However she continued to work hard, strive and excel in her school work and received the School's art prize for her major works of art in the HSC which have now been nominated for Art Express." What a wonderful success story with the foundations set in Family Day Care. Congratulations Summer! See more

10.01.2022 This Recycling Week get involved in the "Moving the Needle' initiative. Every 10 minutes Australians throw out approximately 6,000Kg of clothes. Give your clothes a new life by donating before you buy new ones. Moving the Needle is an initiative that focuses on getting members of the public to donate their used clothing instead of getting rid of it in their household waste bin, with the goal of reducing the number of textiles in landfill by 20% by 2022.... 01.01.2022 White Ribbon Day is today, Friday, 20 November 2020. Violence against women is never acceptable and the wearing of the white ribbon stands for never taking part in, condoning or staying silent about violence against women.
