20.01.2022 We were successful in securing funding from the Shoalhaven City Council's Art Board. This will allow us to deliver masterclasses and a joint concert featuring SYO alumni. More information about this fantastic news will be coming soon
20.01.2022 Yesterday five lucky Year 3 students from Nowra Hill Public School began learning the double bass with tutor Louis Ameneiro. As a part of SYO's scholarship program they will be receiving a free double bass, tuition and enrolment into the Shoalhaven Junior Strings ensemble for the remainder of Term 4. We don't think that there has ever been this many double bass students in the Shoalhaven before and we're excited

11.01.2022 We're excited to welcome our new Violin and Viola teacher to the Shoalhaven. Meet Adrian, who's available for individual violin and viola tuition on Friday afternoons. If you're looking for a teacher you can find out more by emailing us at [email protected] Adrian Davis is an American violist who began his musical studies at the age of 8 in his public school’s string program and has since had a diverse education in the United States and Australia. He has... held teaching positions at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa Community Music School, The University of Colorado Boulder as a graduate teaching assistant, The Lovett School, and most recently the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music. Adrian has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and a Masters Degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. He has participated in many summer festivals such as The Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, and Gateways Music Festival. His principal teachers have been Dr. Daniel Sweaney, Hillary Herndon, Erika Eckert, and Geraldine Walther. See more
