24.01.2022 Great article by Sue in The District Reporter (Friday 31st July)

24.01.2022 Housebound due to the rain? Pack a picnic lunch and come along to Warragamba and the Davii Relays on Sunday. Or visit a coffe shop or cafe in town. Register now. BBQs not available due to Covid. Lyn Malmgron

23.01.2022 Want more SOS with Bold Horizons? It’s on again waiting for you but this time in Western Sydney. See you there. Lyn

20.01.2022 The weather was good for SHOO's first HSF for 2020, though a little chilly at the start of the day. It was a good chance to get in the bush for those who were tempted to venture to the Southern Highlands.

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Div 3 - Ruth, Ian, Ben, Natalya & David Div 5 - Peter, Sandy, Helen, John F & Vicki Div 6 - Rory, Lyn, Emily, Martin & James

16.01.2022 DAVII RELAYS NEXT WEEKEND AT WARRAGAMBA Don’t forget to preenter. All welcome. Navigation easy but watch out for the Davii twists. And an Easy line course as an option.

15.01.2022 Unfortunately we've decided to postpone our Forest Series event on July 5th at Boxvale Tramway. The current standing Public Health Order is a limit of 20 people on outdoor gatherings. This is due to be revised on the 1st July, but without the guidelines in hand we're not able to plan the event adequately to ensure our compliance and attendee safety. We'll be back ASAP with a date, provided that we're able to go ahead.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to our MetrO League winners for 2020: Div 1: Big Foot. Indiv Medal Toby Wilson (Garingal) Div 2: Big Foot. Indiv Medal Cooper Horley (Garingal) ...Div 3: SHOO-IKO. Indiv Medal Miles Ellis (Big Foot) Div 4: Garingal. Indiv Medal Adam Horley (Garingal) Div 5: SHOO-IKO. Indiv Medal Samuel Tsang (Bennelong) Div 6: SHOO-IKO. Indiv Medal James Stuart (IKO). A top day out on an updated Boggabilla map made tougher by reduced visibility and testing courses by Shane Doyle. Thanks to our hosts Uringa, the Bankstown Sports Baseball Club, all the setters, organisers, controllers, SI gurus, participants, helpers and club captains. It's been a weird year and we are grateful we could get 5 rounds in this year to make the comp work. See more

11.01.2022 After a technical issue with Eventor the results for MetrO League #3 are now there at https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/ResultList Split times are also available at http://obasen.orientering.se/winsplits/online//default.asp Hope you all enjoyed Stephan's hard work.

10.01.2022 Some more pictures from this morning's training session. Thanks Tania Cannings for the pics (and Emily for the great photo bomb!)

08.01.2022 It was a strange MetrO League yesterday for many reasons. One of them was Dean and Craig winning Division 2 in a 2v2 match-up. After 47 minutes out on the course, Craig beat his opponent by just 2 seconds to seal the win. If you want to see what 40 seconds difference looks like, you can watch Dean (who came 6th in the division) battle it out with the runner who came 5th. This topsy-turvey battle is what 40 seconds looks like - imagine what Craig's 2s win looked like. To load ...the head-to-head animation, choose Division 2 from the drop-down box, and then "control left-click" on the two runners who have asterices (asterixes?) next to their names (this means they have files loaded). Then click "load animation" at the bottom, and then "start". Enjoy orienteering with the fun of gps watches. See if you can pick where Dean lost the 40s that would have got him 5th? Send your answers via post to "don't run along the creek, get out of the long grass, and don't stand around trying to understand all of the buildings straight after point 6 you idjot".

08.01.2022 A very sad loss to the O community.

07.01.2022 What a cracking morning of some surprisingly technical orienteering on a quality map, set by SHOO's Stephan. The competition was fierce and we had over 180 orienteers visit us to showcase the rock and creek detail of Smith's Creek at Ruse. Well done to all of SHOO's runners - that was a tough one for developing members! If you missed out, or you want some more of that action, check out our next event at Lake Alexandra, Mittagong, on the 20th September.... Oh, and special points to SHOO's Kathy Drayton for spotting a koala. Did anyone else see it - or were you too busy stomping through the bush? Campbelltown is home to a very healthy koala population, and Smith's Creek is a valuable corridor. You probably ran right underneath it

05.01.2022 ENTRIES FOR HIGHLANDS FOREST SERIES CLOSE TONIGHT. If you can’t enter via Eventor, contact Lyn and she will organise it for you. [email protected]. No Enter On Day.... Guaranteed beautiful Southern Highlands weather.

01.01.2022 Great to have the opportunity to get back in the bush today at Appin for the Duo. A well organised event by Uringa. There were a few SHO members who did both foot and bike. Sandra
