18.01.2022 Big thanks to Patricia from WA for this sweet note: "When we decided to self isolate ourselves, we did not realised that having fresh produce is a problem. When I post a plea on FB for help nobody responded. Thanks to a FB fan, I was introduced to SHOPPING ANGELS. After few hiccups as I was mistaken as being in Perth USA. Thanks to quick response by Sarah, coordinator and yes in AUS. Rebecca called back on same day and it's a delight to be connected to this kind volunteer. Sh...e dutifully collected all my online pre-ordered fresh produce and dropped off at my home. This helped to eased off my anxiety and nourishments. Rebecca roped in her partner Glenn to help too. Both were cheerful & a delight to "meet them" at a social distance. I wish both of them will finally find their dream job in Perth. They are both people-oriented and certainly a new job that requires inter-personal skills will match their credentials. Good luck to both Rebecca + Glenn." See more

15.01.2022 #isolationstories from a single mother of three children - two with disabilities - in QLD: To be able to provide essentials for my kids is sometimes a mission impossible. Every time I need to go shopping its like preparing for battle. Its stressful, its tiring, and I try to grab items quickly -half the time I forget what I need. My oldest will talk non stop, my middle will run around grabbing things and making people uncomfortable. Your amazing angel Vanessa took so much pressure of me; she was so particular about what kind of item I need and even has gone extra mile to find a flour that ALDI did not have. I could not thank you enough for people like me its absolutely vital.

She has been very easy to communicate with and very appreciative of Shopping Angels for helping her out during these stressful times. I have been lucky to be able to gather all her items on the shopping list, our local supermarket stocks have been quite good considering the pressure they're all under. Thanks for organising and running such a great initiative! It's great to be able to put my time to good use whilst I'm not working full time at the moment." *Names have been changed

06.01.2022 Meet our angels, Linda from QLD: "The family I'm helping are very appreciative of my assistance and are happy with the service we provide. It's a wonderful feeling to be helping others in this difficult situation and makes me feel happy that I can do something good for someone else. I'm always on the lookout for items she may need that aren't available on my grocery runs for her. Lovely to be of assistance and a part of this group."

06.01.2022 Meet our Angels - Jacqueline from QLD: "I have been shopping for Pam for a couple of weeks. We tend to touch base every couple of days via the phone/text and plan the next shop. She gets a list ready, I pick up the list and her money which she leaves in her letterbox and off I go. She likes to shop at IGA so I go to her local one so she can organise her list for me and knows the products. Most occasions I can fulfil the list but sometimes things are not available so I just ...keep an eye out of those items inbetween shops. Every fortnight I make a trip to the chemist and she has list in mind of her special items that she likes. There is a good distance between her front door and the gate/letterbox so we are able to have a chat and laugh when I visit. She is forever greatful and as am I as it gives me something of value to do during this weird time!" See more
