You can still come learn about the greater flamingos visit to Australian shores, and see how that story fits in with Pats discussion of cyber ethics; the lecture documentation will be available for viewing Mon-Fri next week. 15.01.2022 Materials are manipulated to both convey emotional, personal and subjective concerns while also resonating with the viewers own truths. The anthropomorphic artworks presented in Crushed are collapsed painted canvases in various stages of falling off the frame. Much of Karens artwork relates to aspects of embodiment. Her studio practice involves the manipulation of materials to create artworks that oscillate between bodily and architectural forms. Painted canvases are often juxtaposed with architectural materials and fashion textiles. Their manipulation through being folded, reflected, crumpled, twisted, cut and stretched, is considered a means to address contemporary attitudes and anxieties.
