22.01.2022 As we move closer to considering a return to dancing, I contacted Info at Business Victoria with some specific questions. This is their response and gives you a good idea of what is legal and what is not! RE: Re: Business Victoria - Contact Us - Enquiry Dear Susan,... Thank you for your email, 1/ I can teach a class, but that has to a be a maximum of 10? Indoor sporting facilities, such as gyms and studios, can open to no more than 20 participants per separate space, subject to the four square metre rule, with up to 10 people per group activity or class. 2/ To have another 10 I have to hire another teacher? This is correct as per the DHHS regulations. 3/ If a couple, married or living together were to touch, I would have to ask them desist. Paricipants must socially distance unless they are 18 years old or under. 4/If a couple wanting to learn to dance for a wedding request lessons, they could learn only if they social distance. This is correct as per DHHS regulations. 5/ A junior Dancesport couple in competition and under 18 can touch. This is correct as per DHHS regulations. Please note that as the situation is rapidly evolving, this information may change. To stay up to date with the restrictions, please visit: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sport-and-exercise-restrictions Kind Regards Ulysses Business Victoria Team business.vic.gov.au

19.01.2022 Thursday night dancing was lots of fun on a cold night with a taste of Brazil. Samba was the dance of the night and with the warm roomed to a "tropical" feel both beginners and advanced classes learnt some classy Samba moves. Samba is great for either a social dance event with a partner or as a combination for night club dancing. 0407553771 or [email protected] for inquiries. Lots of other classes in all styles.

19.01.2022 A beautifully balmy night at dancing. At 6.30 the absolute beginner class were learning the finer points of Rumba, a slow romantic style of dance for that night out with slow ballads. 7.30 saw a change of pace with the first night of our beginner New Vogue class. We started with the Tracey Leigh Waltz, a bit tricky you might think, but a good dance to find heels and toes and leads. Everyone did a fantastic job and we will revise and complete this dance next Monday. More danci...ng coming up each night this week. Tuesday private lessons, Wednesday Teenage Hip Hop/ Rock Video Dance 5pm, All Abilities/Special Needs at 6.30pm. New on Wednesday Rock and Roll and Jive Beginners at 7.30pm with a corresponding Intermediate class in the same style at the same time.Thursday is our very popular value night of two hours for $15. One hour of tuition and one hour of social dance. Ring for more information 0407553771 or email, [email protected] See more

18.01.2022 Well it’s Monday and normally we’d be off to dancing. 6.30 suggestion: try a quiet warm up with some Rumba. No one is looking, go through a sequence of your basic moves on your own. Try some of those beginner moves like The Fan and Closed and Open Hip Twists. If you have forgotten try a You Tube clip. Change the moves up in pace and try the same ones in Cha Cha. Try a Sally-Anne Cha Cha or the Jaqueline Cha Cha Sequence. For the 7.30 crew, you were doing very well mastering ...the finer points of the Lucille Waltz. Challenge yourself to see if you can manage the sequence on your own. Once again there is support on You Tube of either the videos or the script notes. Enjoy some good music and keep those bodies moving. Good wishes from Susan See more

18.01.2022 Argentine Tango anyone? That was an enthusiastic YES from the Beginner Class last night. A simple 8 step pattern followed by The Cradle kept everyone busy, learning the nuances of the Tango music and the strategies for the men to learn their leads. Beginners finished with a Progressive Jive to get them set for the social dancing at 8.30. well done everyone bringing a hint of Buenos Aires to Frankston.

17.01.2022 Thank you Wendy Ford, the adjudicator, for tonights Special Needs Dancesport Medal Exams. 16.01.2022 Last night might have been hot in Frankston, but at Showbiz we started back in air conditioned comfort. Susan and Russ both had their classes working on some new moves. Susans beginners got some great Salsa moves happening and Russ had a very smart combination for Modern Waltz with the advanced dancers. There was sponge cake all around with a cup of tea to celebrate the new dance season. Want to learn to dance ?0407553771

15.01.2022 Is today the day that we start moving forward to opening up Victoria? We know that Social and Competition dance will be the last businesses allowed to re-open, but signs are looking increasingly positive. To get in the vibe I thought you might like to spend Saturday Night watching some Australian Dance Championships. Look for the dance styles that you like the most for when we return. Don’t forget to get plenty of exercise too. I have been walking about 4 Km a day to keep the muscle tone up in the legs ready for a good dance safe re-start. Inquiries 0407553771 [email protected]

13.01.2022 Things are looking good at the Dance Studio at Bruce Park following the renovation. Great. Ha Cha tonight from the new beginners

10.01.2022 2018 is the time to learn to dance! It is not as difficult as you might think and lots of fun as you start to learn. When it doesnt work, just have a laugh and have another go. We start back on Thursday January 18th at 7.30 with some Latin dancing. Easy for beginners and lots of fun for the immediate dancers to learn some new moves in their class. Dancing is a great way to meet new people to extend your social circle for couples and for singles it is a lot better fun than an... expensive dating site. 09.01.2022 What a thrill to see our Wednesday All Abilities dance class do the floor show for the Doveton Special Soccer Club last night. Even more satisfying the comments from people amazed at their skill and capacity to dance. We did a selection of the Merrilyn, Brooke and Chris, Evening Three Step, Arran and Kristie, Merrengue with features by Kirsty and Adam. With a Cha Cha solo from Jason the performance ended with a Rumba. New dancers always welcome. Wednesday 6.30-7.30, Bruce Park Hall Margate Avenue Frankston.

08.01.2022 Dancing got off to a great start today at De La Salle College in Malvern with the start of the 2018 Debutante Ball training. The boys ask girls from a number of schools to partner them in the annual Blue and Gold Ball. Thank you to Jonothan Hewitt for the glorious photos of young people having fun learning to dance.

07.01.2022 Monday night beginner class at 6.30 certainly has the vibe. We started with revision of Argentine Tango with an 8 step pattern and Cradle and Ochos as feature variations. Next some exciting travelling steps in Cha Cha as an introduction to next weeks class. As the class moved down the room with arms swinging and feet moving in unison they looked amazing!

04.01.2022 The Showbiz Dance Studio Debutant Ball last night at Springvale Town Hall had a great vibe. 31 couples from a variety of schools were presented to Alice Clark and Russ Hesketh. Band amazing! The lead singer was Frankie Valley in the Jersey Boys musical and oh what a voice. Thanks Jacee and the band.

04.01.2022 Two fabulous events in this last week of term. Last Saturday 28 dancers had a great night at Baxter Tavern. 04.01.2022 Even though we have holidays this week on Monday to Wednesday we are definitely on deck as usual on Thursday. See you then!

04.01.2022 Things are still not moving for ballroom and social dancers in Victoria. Rest assured though that when the prohibitions are lifted we will return, bigger and better than ever! Most class times will remain the same, with maybe some adjustments to allow for a soft restart. With so long out of action the mind might say dance, but the body might feel a little less inclined for the first couple of weeks. Safe dance is always our priority. One thing that the Lockdown has validated is the fitness, fun and friendship that dancing at Showbiz Dance generates. Looking forward to seeing our regulars and new dancers as soon as we can.

04.01.2022 It couldnt have been any hotter to start back for 2018. We had a great time though with both classes beating the heat by learning Samba. It was almost like being in Brazil! Russ had his group adding in some new and fancy moves, my beginners did themselves proud with Samba Basics, Whisks and walks. Thursday class only again for next week and then everything fires up from the 5th of February. Message or phone on 0407553771 to see which class would be the best fit for your needs and social life. As the class found tonight, it isnt too difficult to learn to dance. Samba is a great starter because it doubles for nightclub moves or that family wedding when you just dont know what to do with that top 40 Music.

03.01.2022 If we can’t dance ourselves at the moment, then watching some top dancers from the past might provide some inspiration for when we return. Stay safe and we look forward to getting the moves going again as soon as it is safe to do so!

03.01.2022 Tonight was freezing outside but snuggy inside Bruce Park. The beginners added a new move to Argentine Tango and Russ Hesketh completed some technical skills in Tangoette with the Advanced class. Great social dancing tonight everyone, particularly the Rock and Roll!

02.01.2022 Another great Debutante Ball trained by Showbiz Dance. This one was for Monterey Secondary College last night at Chelsea Town Hall.Nine dances in all from New Vogue, Latin and Standard. The stand out favourites though the Carousel and Gypsy Tap as well as progressive Cha Cha and progressive Jive. Everyone was still dancing at midnight when the band finished. Fun with dancing for students, family and friends!

02.01.2022 February is a big month for weddings! Two lovely couples today learning some dancing for their special events. For a beautiful location in Bali we have a couple with a traditional Modern Waltz to a Michael Buble tune followed by a very cheeky Cha Cha. The second couple, for a romantic second wedding, are dancing to the 1980s hit I want to wake up with you. At Showbiz we can match the right dance moves to your choice of music. A one hour lesson is just $70 and you can include additional members of the wedding party at no extra cost. Just phone or message to discuss your particular requirements. 0407553771 or showbizdance@ icloud.com

01.01.2022 DANCING IS BACK AT BRUCE PARK! Following a week of enforced shutdown due a floor renovation, we are back for a second restart to the year with a new floor. Classes on Monday to Thursday and private lessons at other times. We are having a fun time with our bridal parties who are learning to dance for a special event, but in the process becoming enthralled with social dance. 01.01.2022 Like everyone else I would love to be back teaching dance classes and enjoying the fun and fitness that comes with them. If you have taught yourself every dance that you can find on Youtube, now might be the time to sit back and watch some replays of the Australian Dancesport Championships. Saturday nights at 7.30 with the 2000 Championships this week. Keep an eye out for some of our Showbiz Dancers.
