25.01.2022 Getting yourself moving has always been important. Now, more than ever, we cant stress to people how vital it really is.

25.01.2022 Day 4 of the Australian Junior Volleyball Champs A big week so far with lots of @volleyballvictoria teams looking to play for gold in the coming days!

24.01.2022 We hope youre as excited as we are to get back into the gym! Heres a good read on how to avoid unwelcome injuries as you return to exercise.

24.01.2022 Under DHHS guidelines we can continue to provide Physiotherapy and Podiatry services however face to face services will only be available to patients where the absence of treatment, or a 6 week delay in treatment: 1 Will cause significant deterioration of the patients functional independence. 2 Is likely to cause escalation in care needs. We will screen all new and exisiting patients to determine if face to face care is needed, and offer Telehealth for those that dont ...qualify for face to face treatment under these guidelines. Nobody should neglect their health during this time, so please give us a call no matter how big or small your issue may be.

24.01.2022 Does the perfect posture really exist? A good little article that shifts focus away from having perfect posture and looks at movement, sleep deprivation and stress when dealing with back pain. https://www.theguardian.com//are-you-sitting-comfortably-t

21.01.2022 We hope everyone is finding some normality again with Victorias slightly eased restrictions. We still have a long way to go in the fight against COVID-19, but its a step in the right direction. We are continuing to operate with our strict protocols in place despite the easing of restrictions, thankfully not as extreme as these measures though

20.01.2022 We’re missing AJVC right now! Hoping to be back bigger and better next year with Volleyball Victoria #covidsucks

19.01.2022 Our podiatrist Alice has been combining her love of dance with her exceptional clinical skills and attended an APodA event last week to further extend her knowledge of pre pointe assessments. Pre pointe assessments are performed to ensure a young dancer has appropriate muscle strength, technique, joint range of motion and core control to withstand the en pointe training. All forms of dancing can have an impact on the feet, whether it be muscular issues, ingrown and bro...ken toenails or areas of corns and calluses. An appointment with a podiatrist for regular check-ups and care will help to ensure youre happy, comfortable and dancing away with a smile! Book in with Alice today for your pre pointe assessment or to discuss your dancing needs! HAPPY DANCING! #dance #ballet #podiatry See more

18.01.2022 Whos gearing up for the @melbmara marathon festival in 4 weeks time? Youll find us about a hour behind Geoffrey Kamworor who, yesterday, ran a 57.59 half marathon - a new world record! His time was adjusted to 58.01 after the race, which still betters the previous world record by 17 seconds.... #melbournemarathon #running #marathon #halfmarathon #run #training #fitness

16.01.2022 On Sunday the Victorian Government released their roadmap for the easing of restrictions. It is still unclear what the extension of stage 4 lockdown means for Physiotherapy and Podiatry services in the coming weeks. Our governing bodies are advocating for the loosening of restrictions for allied health services so that we do not delay care of patients any further, however we will not have a firm answer until Thursday evening. We understand that many of you have had appointme...nts postponed, we will be in touch with you once we have received more information. We hope to see you all soon, your understanding in this trying time is greatly appreciated.

16.01.2022 Today is #RUOk day Checking in on the mental health of your patients, family and friends, and most importantly, yourself is always important. But theres more to say after R U OK?... Learn what to say after R U OK? at www.ruok.org.au #theresmoretosay

13.01.2022 Our holistic approach to injury management considers all factors that may be influencing your current problem. The Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport published a prospective cohort study of 95 endurance athletes (running, triathlon, swimming, cycling and rowing) concluding that sleep quality and psychological/lifestyle complaints should be considered when trying to reduce the risk of injury in an endurance athlete. (Study by Johnston et al)

04.01.2022 Unfortunately DHHS has continued the restriction on face to face consults for Physiotherapy and Podiatry services until September 27th. This means face to face consults are limited to essential care only where there will likely be a loss of functional independence or an escalation of care needs without treatment. Anybody with bookings before Sep 27th, who does not fit this criteria, will be contacted in the coming days to have their appointments postponed or switched t...o Telehealth. More information is available on our website: https://showgroundsphysio.com.au/covid-19/ Thank you again for your understanding in this unprecedented time. Looking forward to seeing all our lovely clients again soon!
