25.01.2022 Huge thanks to the floor resurrection team this morning ......... they worked very hard lifting this flooring...... it will have a new life in the new construction....... stay tuned ......
23.01.2022 Sitting in my loungeroom enjoying a cuppa and thinking about the hustle and bustle that would normally be occurring right about now. Organising sites, stewards boxes going out, catching up with Guild members, enjoying a quickly consumed show breakfast from the Dining Hall and the general chaos that is the start of show day. Catching up with locals and exhibitors that we only see at this time of the year is also a plus. I am missing the camaraderie that I have with my girls in... the office, the laughing, the problems that we always get through, the running, the quick changes, the questions to be answered and the crazy times. I am missing talking to our right hand men, Vern and Tony. Always there for us at every show. We love you guys and what you do for us. I am missing watching the faces of the little ones when they see the show, their little faces lit up with absolute wonder at everything they see. I am missing my quick trip to the bar on Friday afternoon for one drink and catch up with our great bar volunteers. I miss my chookie people that I know look forward to this show every year. I miss the wonderful pavilion ladies who work so hard in the week before and during the show. I miss catching up with Shane and the beautiful Karen Blades, Dave Allan and his waffle truck nd my man, Craig Melville and the gorgeous Ruthie. I miss hearing that gorgeous deep smooth voice of the wonderful Angus Lane and the beautiful Vicki. You know the show is on when you hear that voice booming from the loudspeakers. I think it's fair to say that I simply miss every aspect of the wonderful event that is Show Whitsunday. It is a meeting place for us all to catch up, laugh, have a drink, buy a dagwood dog or a real cream waffle and simply have some fun. We have 12 months to organize an amazing show for you all, and we will! This team is amazing! Enjoy your 'No Show' long weekend all and we will certainly catch up in June 21! Secretary Sue Q See more
17.01.2022 No Show - but we can still do a little DIY. Bar toilets getting a make over today. Mission brown doors may take a few more coats than anticipated........
15.01.2022 As I look outside on this dreary day, I am reminded of the ultimate power of weather. Any other year our committee would have been busy running around preparing for 2 big days of crowds and entertainment whilst cautiously watching and anticipating the weather and what impact it may have on our regional Show. Contingency plans the forefront. We would have had many local expert’s forecasting, we would be reminding ourselves of the criteria for the weather insurance and makin...g sure we had tractors and sand at the ready ....... oh the fun of it all ! Instead we can look outside with a mixture of both sadness and relief at our 2020 COVID fate. However, I can’t help by smile as I see that the Weather is having the final say and reminding us what this weekend is ....... Show Weekend. I’m a great believer in everything happens for a reason........ so be assured your Show Whitsunday will be back next year bigger, better and with a surprise or 2 Enjoy your Show Long Weekend See more
